About
Located just 45 minutes southwest of Tacoma, Tahoma Valley Golf Course has garnered a reputation for being the driest course in the Puget Sound. The course boasts well manicured greens that putt fast and true. The greens showcase the best of the Northwest's undulating, bump-and-run golf. Its location provides every hole with a stunning view of Mount Rainier. Just shy of 6,000 yards from the back tees, it's not an especially long layout but it is narrow enough to present a challenge. The wide fairways are forgiving, making it player friendly enough for beginners, and there are enough challenges to please high handicappers as well. With an abundance of mature trees throughout, Tahoma Valley Golf Course demands accuracy. The par 3s are particularly memorable for both their views and level of difficulty.

Great course for such a good price. Greens were pure, layout was fun. Definitely recommend
Great course
I’m hesitant to leave a review because I don’t want the course to get too busy, but am doing so for two reasons: I’d love to meet new golf buddies and I hope the resistant steps up it’s game, get beer from Black Raven brewery ( Mens Room Ale specifically), and keep the men’s room cleaner (urine buildup on the floor is disguising).
Awesome Local Course
Always a great day walking the Yelm course. Fall golf with lots of leaves everywhere can be a little difficult. The grounds crew does a great job minimizing leaves and the course is well maintained.
The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Always a good time at Tahoma
Fantastic Course
This was one of the best maintained courses offered in the Tacoma area. I love the layout of the course. My first time on the course and I can’t wait to come back and play!
Carts, Carts, Carts!!
Every time I play there, I am always worried they will not have a power cart for my round. I live an hour away and drove to the course for my pre-planned tee time just to find out that they did not have any carts available.
When I booked my tee time, I do so using my phone number so common sense would think the staff would have called those people with tee times to advise them of the cart shortage. There were dozens of players showing up for there tee time and ended up leaving upset that they just wasted their time.
Now every time I golf there, I have to call ahead to confirm they have carts and even then they tell me it’s going to be close and they can’t guarantee me that they will have enough carts. Apparently they have 40 carts but only 18 work and some of the ones that work are so bad that they would have decommissioned at any other course.
I have never had this happen to me in my 20+ years of playing golf recreationally or competitively.
It is sad when the staff is telling their customers that the owners don’t listen to them about the carts so the only way to make a change is if you leave a bad review.
