Fun course
Fun course, was quite wet. Dared you to take chances, risk reward if you hit that good shot.
Fun course
Little wet from rain night b4. Greens in good condition. Gives you chance to take chances but if off a bit your in trouble. I would play again.
Go to track
Browns Lake is always a pleasure to play. Great course layout and super friendly staff. Play this gem at least 10 times a year…..so worth the drive and for the money it can’t be beat. It’s what keeps me and my guys coming back
Browns Lake GC
Played Friday & Saturday pace of play was fine on Friday but was overbooked and slow on Saturday. No rangers to keep outing group moving and no food ready at concessions which caused delays on the back 9.
Fairways and bunkers very nice but pins oddly placed on the greens and greens very rough. Still a good value if booked on Golf Now.
Not bad for this early
Played browns Lake for a smokin' and deal of 25 bucks 18 holes with a cart. Of course was an excellent shape for this early in the year and the greens were rolling pretty good as well. Absolutely no complaints.T-boxes and fairways were very nice.
Horrible conditions
This was my first time playing this course and I found it to be in horrible shape. Most of the tee boxes were beat up and uneven. The greens looked like they had been punched weeks ago and nothing has been done to them since, no sanding, rolling, nothing, it was like putting on a gravel bed. The fairways were like hitting out of the first cut at most courses. I swear I had a few flyer lies because the grass was so tall...I gave this course 3 stars for value because I played it for $22 via a hot deal from golfnow. So had I paid full price, this place would have gotten 1 star for value. To be fair, I was told by a couple of regulars that the course is usually in better condition. That said, I will not be making the trip back to give it a second chance
Great course
Excellent condition, tight course that creates different challenges to your game 100% would recommend playing here
Went from Avg to very nice last couple years.
Played this course few times every summer last few years. Long drive for me, I have golfing buds that live short drive from the course. Always been a super friendly staff. They always make you feel they're glad you're there. It's an old facility with old carts. Doesn't matter because staff keeps the facility and equipment very clean and in great condition. Always get a kick out of the intelligence Wisconsin golf course owners have. Example, charge a fair price for beer and players will buy it from you Vs sneaking it on. Not sure why the course owners in the state just south can't figure that out? !! Anyway, just played here for the first time this season. Wow, the course itself has really gotten a tuneup! The conditions: fairways, tee boxes, greens and bunkers. All are much improved so hats off to the greens keeper staff. Really enjoyed the day and will be making the long drive more often. Nice work Browns Lake!
Great time at Browns Lake
This is my kind of course. I've been blowing my driver all over the place and while you need to keep watch in the other fairways it was back and forth routing which allows for consistent finding of golf balls and shooting over, under and thru trees to get back in play.
Some great elevation change for southern WI that made some holes much harder. Loved the 3rd hole par 3 over the bridge and like I was talking about 7 plays up the hill very difficult to figure out approach shot to a small green on the perch.
Conditions were great for what we payed and minimal pitch marks on the greens so kudos to the golfers who play here taking care of their place or the superintendent team working overtime to keep things with minimal divot marks.
Way to go Browns Lake, can't wait to try Ives Grove.
