Great for beginners
Great discount rate for novice player. I aways enjoy the scenery and weather, seems to always have a slight breeze. I find it challenging for my Evelyn of play. Course was in good shape with good greens. Always nice and considerate players there.
Greens were good and consistent; tee boxes crowned and spent.
Deep Cliff is great for iron play and practice. There really isn't any hole, except, maybe, 12, where you would hit a driver or 3 wood. The greens were generally in great shape and can be challenging. The bunkers were not so great, pretty hard and, some, rocky; and most of the tee boxes were very crowned and mostly bare of grass.
That said, if you need to practice your irons, this is the place to do it.
It's a fun course, enjoy the features.
Enjoyed the course. But slow play was a problem needs more course management.
Great early summer conditions
Played here at noon on a super hot June Saturday (90+ degrees). Usually this place is very backed up on weekends, but today it moved pretty well. There was no one behind us for 2-3 holes, probably due to the heat. Walked it in 3:45 w/ about 25 minutes of total waiting.
The greens were in GREAT shape for a muni/exec style course. Rolling true all day. Fairways/fringe were in good shape and fast. Tee boxes were better than usual but still by far the weakest link in terms of maintenance - there is no excuse for having an uneven lie/stance while standing in the tee box.
If they keep the greens this good all summer, I'll be back often.
4.5 hours, but fun.
The course is what golf is supposed to be like! I you like to boom drives and then jump into your cart, stay away! Most of the par 3's are challenging because you are punished for any inaccuracy. Because of a winding creek and tons of leaves, going just past the green or a slight slice/hook will end up as a lost ball.
The only problem is that it gets so backed up. I've played here three times and by the second or third hole you are waiting for the group in front to clear the green. Because there are no par 5's, it stays at this pace through 18. It should never take 4.5+ hours to play this course.
Nice short 18
Nice well maintained course. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday afternoon but moved along at a good pace. I will play here again.
Time to practice with irons
The staff (Carl) was very friendly! The course is great for practing with your irons. Very narrow but fun course. The Greens are well maintained right now. The best I ever seen at deepcliff.
Great for short game practice
Great course to practice your irons and short game along with a few par 4's. Water comes into play on 4 or 5 holes. Overall I like it and the people that play there are nice.
A great find!
I was looking for a course on a Sunday afternoon that was a fair price, provided an opportunity to walk for exercise and enjoy the weather, was a new challenge, close to San Jose, and was available.....this course met all my needs. In fact, I was surprised that it took me a year and a half to find this place but am glad I did! Little busy and slow but to be expected on a Sunday when most ppl are walking and there are families out on a course that is mostly par 3's but still worth it....and will definitely be a good weekday course to use for working on irons. Tough holes with water and narrow fairways and protected greens but still worth it! You can use a power cart if ya want...i read somewhere that they didn't offer that but they do. Greens were 10x better than SJ muni, fairways decent, tee boxes a little sandy.
Greens are good and fun to play.
Great course to get some practice. Easy to walk and does have some challenge. Play early and you can play 18 in 3 1/2 hours.
Beautiful course located in the "hills" of Cupertino.
A very nice course to get out and play and get 18 holes in in less than four hours (depending on your t-time) Very friendly staff and the course is well kept.
Really fun executive course.
I had limited time and this course was perfect for that. Lots of fun and some challenge. I played behind two others and walked a leisurely pace and still finished 18 hole in an hour and 45 minutes. Great place to work on the short game both on course and with the practice facility.
great golf course
Very good golf course to walk. green are great and good to practice your short game
Great course
Very nice course. Small course but very clean an difficult shots.
a great refreshing outdoor experience
A scenic, challenging and serene course, particularly for beginners and seniors. It is reasonably well kept. I'm a senior and try to play it once a week.
I cannot recommend this course. Slow, unmonitored play. Staff dismissed complaints by stating "you only payed $17 to play".
Do not waste your time and money unless you have plenty of both. I played here for the first and last time on 2/24 with tee off at 3:07. After 1.5 hours I played just 5 holes due to unmonitored play including groups of parents and children taking 4 and 5 tee shots, looking for balls, and taking multiple shots again and again. I left the course after 5 holes only to complain to rude staff.
Good Scenery
Deep Cliff is great for the beginner golfer. It is a short 18 hole course with pretty scenery. Right now the course is not in the best of condition but it is very playable. Great for honing your short game.
Nice course, good location, but needs cleaning
This is probably one of a few golf courses in the SF Bay area, where you can lose half a dozen balls on the fairway. Because the fairways are half covered with leaves! Par 4s are really small. I am a casual player and I was able to drive to the green several times. Makes it too easy. If I'm feeling low and need a morale boost, I'll tee up here!
But you do get to see a couple of families of deer while you play!
Beautiful relaxing course.
Beautiful little course tucked in a small valley. Short but fun and entertaining. Good practice for your short game. It takes about 3 hours to play as long as play moves. If your a long hitter and like to hit driver off the tee then the course isn't for you. One driving hole on the course and you can drive the green.
An excellent course for couples or beginners that don't want to spend 5 hours on the course. Bring your camera, beautiful surroundings with lots of wildlife.
Nice Executive, Muni Prices
This is a good little executive course with a few nice water holes. It freezes over a lot and that can lead to a really muddy day, but when the weather is cooperative it is quite nice. Greens are decently kept, muni level putting surface. The fairways on the par 4 holes are not great; there isn't much difference hitting from the middle of the fairway or from the rough under a tree most of the time. Plays fast if no one is in front of you. I finished the course with my friend in 3.5 hours, but played with a 3some and people in front of us slowed it down by almost an hour.
The staff is nice and the guy who cooks is good at what he does. The driving range is basically just a hitting net.
