Deep Cliff Golf Course

Its a short course and could use a little more attention, but overall I had a great time. Great for before work... don't miss the deer at 6:30AM!

Narrow fairways surrounded by trees and blackberry bushes make this this more than an executive lunch course. On the par threes (some of which are quite challenging) practice your short game. For the 6 par fours leave your driver at home. Take out that fairway metal, hybrid or long iron and work on your aim and finesse. You'll have an enjoyable 3 hours and your game will benefit from it.

I have been playing Deep Cliff off and on for 35 years and this last round there was the worst condition I have ever seen the course. It needs a new irrigation system (which in time probably would save them money) and the tees are real bad. They are trying to 'fix' the tees and doing a very bad job of that. They have destroyed all the new sod they bought. They are overseeding with really poor topdressing (inconsistent depth and coverage) and no water. The seeds will not germinate without consistent topdressing depth and keep the seeds moist for at least a week. Greens are slow and bumpy, but some of that is people are not fixing ball marks. I have enjoyed playing Deep Cliff, but it is in need of some real help.

Deep Cliff is great, but i learned the hard way not to play on a weekend afternoon. The pace was so slow that it was brutally painful. I love the course but won't ever play on a weekend again. There are a LOT of beginners who think that because it's an executive length course that it will suit their skill level, which just isn't true. Deep Cliff is very scenic but is also tight, with a lot of hazards and trouble to get into. Please beginners, play Rancho del Pueblo, Mariner's Point or even Pruneridge to learn the game. Or more likely I need to accept that you'll keep going to Deep Cliff and adjust accordingly. If you're not a beginner, play weekdays for quick, enjoyable rounds.

Went here with my wife. Course was pretty beat up. Holes are very close together. Nice environment. Lots of beginners and some very slow play. Didn't strike me as a great vibe for the serious golfer, but a highly suitable place to take it easy and drink beer in the sun and joke with your playing partners.

Beautiful property but neglected conditioning. Need to put some funds in the course.

Deep Cliff is a good short 18 with lots of bang for your buck.I like to play this course when every where else is packed and its good to get out and walk the course and still have energy to play all 18. Mostly a irons course but there still are a few you can break out the driver and let it rip!!

When you don't have a life time to spend playing golf, this is the best choice. Enjoy a friendly but slightly challenging experience.

Deep Cliff allows too many players on the course at one time which leads to long waits at every hole and slow play.

I have been playing here for years, I feel at home here. However...Tee boxes and greens have been in terrible condition for a long time now. Starters unaware groups are backed-up on holes 2 thru 7, marshalls afraid to say anything meaningful to slow groups, probably because there are so many. They provide cold water tanks (nice) but they need to be cleaned so water has no taste! Most ball cleaners are broken. They have improved on their tree trimming. This course has everything necessary to be a showcase except for TLC.

I truly enjoyed the layout of the course. For a relatively short course, the holes were varied and nicely planned out. I had to "play the course" in interesting ways and I had a great time.

The course is price reasonably, but the tee boxes need a lot of work. The cart/walking path needs attention too. A little bit of attention and this would be a great little course.

I was a little weary from the get go since it was only $35 for an 18 hole course, should have followed my gut and not played here. The Tee Boxes were nothing but dirt and sand, the greens unkept and the golf carts (I know not a big deal) held together with Duct Tape (LITERALLY)! Not to mention all the blind spots on each hole, you never can see anyone ahead or behind you and balls are constantly flying at you. If you can stay away and spend the money on a nicer place to play!

This par 60 course is a good practice for your irons. It's narrow enough to make some of the holes challenging. It's a course I've played several times this year and on this day the greens were soft and bumpy and tee boxes were some of the worse I've ever played. We disregarded the tee blocks in order to find level ground with grass and it was not always easy. This course should be played in 3 hours or less. The front nine got over loaded and played terribly slow. I've seen the course in better shape.

Since I have started golfing more seriously, this was a great course. The fee was perfect for a twilight game of 9 holes. The course had a couple challenging areas lost only 1 ball to the creek. I definitely will come back to this course, beautiful settings and challenging areas.

The only problem I had was a family (a mother/father and daughter) and kids (a group of young boys (under 14) that apparently did not show respect to the other golfers. It did not look like they were together. I'm not sure where they came from but they were walking all over the course, jumping in front of you to play the next hole, it did not look like they were playing a game but just hitting the ball. The younger boys did not have any adults with them and I finally had to ask them to leave the course because they were about to take one of our players ball.

just such a slow pace of play, 4.5 hrs to do 18 holes wowowowowowowo.
nice enough course,dont take anything more than a 3 wood ,but ring to see if they are backed up.

Nice to be able play 18 holes with mostly par 3"s. plays quick, and stuff was friendly.

This course is good for short game practice. Only the point disappointed was sprinkler started even we're playing around 7:30.

Great discount rate for novice player. I aways enjoy the scenery and weather, seems to always have a slight breeze. I find it challenging for my Evelyn of play. Course was in good shape with good greens. Always nice and considerate players there.

Deep Cliff is great for iron play and practice. There really isn't any hole, except, maybe, 12, where you would hit a driver or 3 wood. The greens were generally in great shape and can be challenging. The bunkers were not so great, pretty hard and, some, rocky; and most of the tee boxes were very crowned and mostly bare of grass.

That said, if you need to practice your irons, this is the place to do it.
