This is the most wonderful executive course!
Deep Cliff Golf Course is wonderful! The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. This executive course (60 par) is the best because it is well established in a stunning area of Cupertino. There are a fair variety of holes nestled among creeks, ponds, and a deep cliff. It's a lush setting. Deer, California brown rabbits, and a great variety of birds enjoy the course as well! There are some very challenging holes even though there are only about six 4 pars. It's just an enjoyable place to play 9 or 18 holes! The Premier Club and senior rates offer a good deal. (Did I mention those great fries that come from a tiny kitchen with a friendly staff?)
Mediocre conditions and slowish play. Good for beginners.
Played this course in the middle of summer. The greens were soggy while the fairways were firm. The ball literally rolled for days. That coupled with the fact that the course is very tight and short makes hitting driver nearly impossible. Deep cliff is good if you want to practice your iron play, but the pace was slow mid day and the greens were too fuzzy and soggy to focus on the short game.
Tees were in need of improvment. Greens were pretty good. Fairways were a tree lined and had a mix of different grasses.
This course is a great place for beginning golfers or if you need to work on iron play and short game.
Short, easy walking 18
This course is a great value especially for seniors. Short 18 yet you use all the clubs in your bag at least once. Beautiful surroundings. Must hit fairways and greens to play well. I've lost more balls here than on championship courses!
Great for our first time
Our first time paying. Course was easy to Moderate
weather was wet but in good condition and not crowded due to weather
Got a grreat deal with golf now, weather iffy, wet course but it is in good shape.
They have taken out a lot of bunker to speed up play but also removes some challenges.
great short game practice.
Fun Course, Slow Day
I had a great time at this course, however, the course of play was super slow when we played.
According to the field marshall the people who were 2 groups ahead of us were very slow.
good short game practice, some narrow fairways, tight shots
It's always fun to play this course. Recently the grounds crew are working to improve specific areas. Some grasses have been sprayed/killed so there are some rough patches. The greens are in pretty good shape however.
Perfect for the not so serious golfer!
This is a very pretty course and mostly non intimidating for those relatively new to golf. It's easy to get around in less than 4 hours. Love being able to easily walk the course. People are very nice. Be prepared to lose a few balls though!
Very good executive course for great value
The day we played Deep Cliff, the play went very smoothly, the greens were in good shape, and most fairways broad and forgiving. The course is short, which is perfect for a beginning player, and yet it is challenging for an experienced player's short game. The par 4s are short and some of the par 3s are long. Some narrow fairways, but most will forgive a sloppy drive. The staff was great and the price is hard to beat. Have fun.
Great fot the money. Easy to get a tee time for this walkable course
I wish that this site was as easy to use as the course was. The sliders above do not work well. The course is not the easiest to find if you do not know the area but for the money it is a great little course. Has some water and some very short holes along with some that are a bit more challenging. Play can be slow as there are few carts and lots of senior players, but over all a great way to spend the day. No sand or chipping practice and you hit into a net for range pratice but large putting green.
Not bad for a beginner 18 hole course
The tee box needs major work. Not all of them have grass and most of them are in a slope. This course does present a lot of challenges that some difficult courses might have. Overall, it's a very good course to play for a beginner.
Excellent for walking 18.
Extemely quiet and pleasant course to walk 18. Patience is needed as slow play is the norm through the first 4 holes.
Don't forget your irons!
Deep Cliff is a very fun and affordable course. The course has 6 par 4 and 12 par 3's. However, none of the par 4's are over 300 yards. This makes the course fun as you can try and drive many of them. Although a miss-hit drive will put you in the trees or water on most of the par 4's. I love the risk reward aspect of this. The par 3's are all enjoyable, they range from 90 yds (8th hole), to about 195 (13th hole). On the downside the pace of play can get ridiculously slow due to a combination of lots of par 3's and slow players. However, when the pace is good, you can get 18 in 3 and a half hours or less. that can't be beat. The course is well maintained and the scenery is beautiful. If you're looking for a course to work on your irons this is the one for you. If you enjoy hitting your driver as much as possible, stay away. Overall I would recommend that you do yourself favor and give Deep Cliff a try.
