Inniscrone Golf Club
About
Inniscrone Golf Club in Avondale is one of the toughest public courses in the area. It is a formidable challenge to say the least, but an enjoyable one. None of the holes run parallel to each other and no two holes are alike either. The greens have quite a bit of variation from one to the next but mostly they are very large and extremely fast. Although the greens only have mild contouring, the rippling landscape still provides plenty of challenges throughout. Strategically placed bunkers perfectly complement the dramatic elevation changes, ranging from pot bunkers to vast expanses of sand. Inniscrone Golf Club's ninth hole is a memorable one since it encapsulates the course's appeal with a ridge of cross-bunkers just off the tee and even more along the left side.

Hole 13, back of the green Photo submitted by Edward3574350 on 12/20/2012
Played Yesterday
Great value… fairways and greens in good shape and excellent value compared to some of the green fees charged in Chester County
Layout second to none
This is one of my all-time favorite courses. Each hole has so much character. Unique features and elevation changes on nearly every hole make for a challenging but very fun round. I spoke with the pro shop workers, and apparently the greens have had some watering issues. It’s evident - they are rolling SUPER fast right now! Combine that with the sneaky break and undulation, well, it’ll lead to a 41 putt round. Whoops! The pace of play was good, though, and besides some unfixed ball marks on the greens, I found the course to be in great shape overall. Some of the tee boxes could use a little love, but the fairways were pure and the rough is manageable. Overall, I could play this course every day of the week and never get tired of it. 9.3/10 would recommend.
Disappointing
I've played this course dozens of times over the last several years and have always loved it. The staff are always friendly and the course has one of the best layouts around. Unfortunately, I've never seen the condition this poor. The course isn't being cared for properly, whatsoever. We won't be going back until we hear the conditions have improved.
Uninformed About Temporary Closure of FIVE Holes
I normally love playing out at Inniscrone even though it's almost an hour away from my house. It's worth the drive.
I was very disappointed that five of the holes; numbers three four five six and seven were closed due to storm damage from a week ago. They were taking an additional $5 off the already discounted Monday price of $35 celebrating their 35 years anniversary they did not however further discount my golf now hot deal price even though it was basically the same price as the 35th year anniversary price.
The greens are getting torn up around the cup and there are several diseased areas. The sand traps need a lot of work and the tee boxes are chewed up too.
My last complaint is directed at the players themselves. BE CONSIDERATE.
Take a minute and fix your GD divots and ball marks!
The Course Needs Work
The course needs a lot of work. The tee boxes and sand traps were in pretty bad shape. Great layout and the course could be something special.
Challenging test of golf
Course is in excellent condition. Phenomenal blend of unique holes with varying degrees of difficulty (#17 is most difficult par4 that I face on a regular basis).
Tees BACK?
Decided to play a tee box back today. As we all know, most courses move their tee forward from what’s posted on the card. Inniscrone had them back! More holes then not were 20+ yards back. It was fun to see a course I’ve played dozens of times from a different perspective. The card had the gold tees just over 6200 yards, felt easily 6500. Even the tees I usually play were all back. I’ve never come across that before.
Been hot this year and the course had some burnt edges, but nothing that affected play.
Some new cart paths were a pleasant surprise. Definitely needed on 18. Cart path use to go straight down the left side of the hill towards a creek. Now it goes to the right, in front of the back tee boxes then back across to the left to the bridge over the creek.
The course layout is demanding
For some strange reason I enjoy playing this difficult course. The course has a lot of blind tee shots. Long par 3,4,and 5 holes. The day I was there the crowd was not bad so the pace of play was smooth. Our foursome cruised through in about 4 hours. The course was in get shape. The greens were fast and sloped in all kinds of directions. I would not recommend for a beginner golfer, there is to many variables you got to take into consideration. It’s a very challenging and difficult course that I embrace the challenges. Throughly enjoyed and would go back again!
A very challenging track
Especially for older golfers. The back nine is really a challenge to reach the greens.
Great for price
Paid $30, don’t m ow if I’d pay more. Good course, great shape, greens challenging, but good public course
