Rivermoor Golf Club
About
Originally opened in 1929 as the Waterford Woods Golf Course, the club reemerged in 2008 as the Rivermoor Golf Club. Along with its new name, the club also revealed improvements to the playability and condition of the 18-hole course. The design of the golf course was largely determined by the scenic topography, which is covered with mature trees and dotted with ponds. There are also a few streams that meander across the landscape. Rivermoor Golf Club is a proud member of the Audubon Sanctuary System. Beyond providing a secluded setting and great scenery, the terrain also makes for a challenging round. The trees frame most of the holes and water hazards come into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers with which to contend.

Wet spring
Given the amount of rain this area has received this month the course was in fairly good shape but played very long. Little roll, almost no bounce..
Good value
The course was in good condition for being so early in the season. The greens are recovering from winter burn and were surprisingly quick. The grass is growing in and there were only a few areas that were a bit muddy. The bar made a good burger and the staff was very friendly.
Early golf in WI
Course was a bit rough. But it did snow 4 days prior.
Nice course
Enjoyed the round very much, the course is in very good condition for this early in the season the staff as friendly as ever
Thank you
Course was in fantastic shape!
For early spring golf the course was in fantastic shape.
The narrowest of local courses
If you want to tighten up your drives this is a course to play.
Tee boxes in good shape.
Fairways are in good shape with a 2-3” cut off the fairway.
The ball rolls at a fair speed on mostly well maintained greens. However, I was constantly repairing ball marks on the greens.
Sand mix in traps is a mostly harder mix.
Saw the “cart girl” four times in 18 holes.
Very clean restaurant and bar on premises with plenty of seating.
Great course for the area
The only thing that put a damper on the day was the extremely slow pace.. there was no ranger to keep the busy course play at a steady pace. We ended up having to skip a group at a par 3 and continued on with our day. Once we jumped ahead of the group, play was still slower (only groups of 2 ahead of us) but overall it was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed the course.
Rough Day
The height of the “rough grass” was far too high. The group ahead of us spent so much time looking for the ball they eventually let us pass at hole 7. Other than that the course was in fine shape. The greens were slower that what I am used to.As always there are a few tee shots with narrow fairways.
On another note they have new carts that is a plus.
Handicap is a 12.
Rivermoor 5/7/18
Fairway and rough are getting some growth after a long winter. Greens are already hard and fast. You either have to hit the ball very high with backspin or run it onto the green for it to stay. Rivermoor can be challenging if you get out of the short grass and into the trees. That said, it is a fun place to play with great customer focused staff!
Great Course for the Money
This is a fun course to play with a good layout and decent pace. Condition was good. Some interesting and challenging holes and greens. Definitely worth trying.
We picked a sunny day but with some wind in the
mid 40s. We played 9 holes and decided to quit
because we just couldn't get loose. Miller Time &
sandwich
Slow and dry
I had heard good things about this course, so my brother and I decided to give it a try. The course was busy and we had a 1:36 tee time, there was no starter, no course rangers, the pace of play was excruciatingly slow. I will give them a pass on the course conditions seeing that there hasn't been a lot of rain since the floods in July , "although other courses in the area were in great shape because they actually had watered them ". The course layout can be can confusing as you criss cross many holes and the people in front of us were not just slow, but did not repair any of their ball marks on the greens. At the end of the day my brother and I decided that we probably would not return.
Very nice 1920's course
Very friendly staff. Nice 1920s layout. Definitely would go back to play again. Would be worth your trip there to play.
