Rivermoor Golf Club
About
Originally opened in 1929 as the Waterford Woods Golf Course, the club reemerged in 2008 as the Rivermoor Golf Club. Along with its new name, the club also revealed improvements to the playability and condition of the 18-hole course. The design of the golf course was largely determined by the scenic topography, which is covered with mature trees and dotted with ponds. There are also a few streams that meander across the landscape. Rivermoor Golf Club is a proud member of the Audubon Sanctuary System. Beyond providing a secluded setting and great scenery, the terrain also makes for a challenging round. The trees frame most of the holes and water hazards come into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers with which to contend.

Nice nature view
Greens are kept clean, nice natural terrain, enjoyed scenery and great golf round.
Ttight fairways
The course was in great shape and we played in a little over 3 hrs! The guy behind the counter wasn't all that friendly, not a people person from what I saw. Still I will play here again
Nothing to drink...
It's Labor Day Monday and it's 85 degrees and extra humid. There's NO drink cart and NO drinking water anywhere on the course. I go into the bar and was informed they don't keep any bottled items there (water. soda, tea) those items are in the clubhouse. I walk over to the clubhouse and grab two iced teas. The person that was checking out the items I bought was nice. The man behind him was not. I question the lack of drink cart and he said they couldn't get anyone to drive the cart around today. Then I mention the lack of water jugs on the course and the man says in a snarky voice "Well there's some ponds out there." I have a sense of humor but that wasn't funny. I've never been to a course that didn't have either drink cart service or drinking water on the course, especially on one of the busiest and hottest days of the summer. The course was in ok shape except for around the pin. It was like someone was scraping their feet. I don't think I'll ever be going back.
Nice course
Course is very nice and fairly easy to play. Greens are really small and fast so be aware. Also, no drinking water available on the course and no beer cart person.
Nice little course
A few narrow fairways, but in excellent shape. Best time to play is after 10, unless you like fairways and greens full of dew. No drinking water on course or "cartgirl" while we played and finished at 11, so plan to bring your own hydration.
Good Course
*** 1/2 with a nice club house with a friendly staff
8/20/15 early am
course was fun, fairways great shape, greens were disappointing, in need of mowing, and a bit chewed up from golfers who don't care or are to stupid to fix balls marks.
I
Rivermoor
I thought the course was in very good shape. The fairways were green and the ruff was cut to an appropriate length. The green were well maintained.
My only challenge was that my group played the course an hour under the normal pace of play and the groups behind us were playing at breakneck speed, which left us feeling rushed most of the round.
Be straight
The course was fairly tight. Most fairways were tree lined. Not long but challenging because of the tightness. Most greens have bunkers, but it had rained hard the night before and they all had big puddles in them. We were one of the first groups out in the morning so pace of play was good, but there were many people on the course by the time we finished so I am not sure what the pace would have been then.
Excellent 19th hole
Plenty of brews on tap and froendly staff. Nice menu with lots of good appetizers. Course is short but tight with it's own challenges.
Enjoy the round greens are in great shape
Positive : Electric carts greens and fairways and sand traps ... negative : finding next tee box and apparently no requirements for college shirts etc. typical for a medium quality facility
Rich
Great course some holes are challenging because they are tightly lined with trees, but others are parable for the average golfer if you hit a couple of shots. It's a great course.
Challenging course in great condition
I like to play here when ever I can friendly staff, no problems at all. Great fairways and greens.
Great value
Did 18 with a cart for an early morning deal, it was a great value! The pace of play was good and the condition of course was great! Can't beat the hot deal on this course!
Just great course
Been about 25 years since my last visit. Found the course in very good shape. I will go back to play again. Looks like they did a total remodel of the course. Perfect!
Slow play
Very slow play with no policing. Five plus hours of play. Way too long with no one pushing the slow groups. Not fun waiting on eighty percent of holes
Waterford Gem
Used to play course regularly, left for a course closer to home. Under new ownership, numerous course and facility improvements have been completed. Classic parkland design with plenty of trees, narrow fairways, and small greens. Course was in excellent condition when we played last Thursday.
Nice Course
Awesome course. Very straight but for a novice player like me, it was still challenging.
Very Poor
This course is in terrible condition. No grass on the fairways...only dirt under the trees that line every hole. The green were very slow and very hard..,I had seeing my sandwedge bounce 10 feet in the air on a 100 yard shot.....don't waste your money....very disappointing
Not to shabby
First time playing the course and it was a nice experience. At first pace of play was slow but me and my buddy ended up joining with the two guys in front if us. After that it was pretty good, but the staff did have the tee times well timed. The greens and course could've been maintained better but all in all it was a nice course. The greens were some of the most difficult in the area with out of 18 I think there was only one that was flat, plenty of hills and major breaks. The one thing I didn't really care for was how close all the holes were, if you had a bad drive chances are you wound up on the adjacent hole. And if it's your first time there be sure to have a map of the course, if we didn't join with the guys in front of us we probably would've got lost a couple times.
