Rivermoor Golf Club
About
Originally opened in 1929 as the Waterford Woods Golf Course, the club reemerged in 2008 as the Rivermoor Golf Club. Along with its new name, the club also revealed improvements to the playability and condition of the 18-hole course. The design of the golf course was largely determined by the scenic topography, which is covered with mature trees and dotted with ponds. There are also a few streams that meander across the landscape. Rivermoor Golf Club is a proud member of the Audubon Sanctuary System. Beyond providing a secluded setting and great scenery, the terrain also makes for a challenging round. The trees frame most of the holes and water hazards come into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers with which to contend.

Great value
Did 18 with a cart for an early morning deal, it was a great value! The pace of play was good and the condition of course was great! Can't beat the hot deal on this course!
Just great course
Been about 25 years since my last visit. Found the course in very good shape. I will go back to play again. Looks like they did a total remodel of the course. Perfect!
Slow play
Very slow play with no policing. Five plus hours of play. Way too long with no one pushing the slow groups. Not fun waiting on eighty percent of holes
Waterford Gem
Used to play course regularly, left for a course closer to home. Under new ownership, numerous course and facility improvements have been completed. Classic parkland design with plenty of trees, narrow fairways, and small greens. Course was in excellent condition when we played last Thursday.
Nice Course
Awesome course. Very straight but for a novice player like me, it was still challenging.
Very Poor
This course is in terrible condition. No grass on the fairways...only dirt under the trees that line every hole. The green were very slow and very hard..,I had seeing my sandwedge bounce 10 feet in the air on a 100 yard shot.....don't waste your money....very disappointing
Not to shabby
First time playing the course and it was a nice experience. At first pace of play was slow but me and my buddy ended up joining with the two guys in front if us. After that it was pretty good, but the staff did have the tee times well timed. The greens and course could've been maintained better but all in all it was a nice course. The greens were some of the most difficult in the area with out of 18 I think there was only one that was flat, plenty of hills and major breaks. The one thing I didn't really care for was how close all the holes were, if you had a bad drive chances are you wound up on the adjacent hole. And if it's your first time there be sure to have a map of the course, if we didn't join with the guys in front of us we probably would've got lost a couple times.
Dew sweeper
Played the course early and thought the dew and moisture would slow the greens down, but we were wrong. Greens were small and hard to hold on approach shots, very fast and not easy to putt. Course was pretty straight forward and if your drives were in the fairway you could score well
Good Value for the Money
We played on a Saturday morning, probably one of their busiest times, and enjoyed the course.
Sand and trees
Fairways a bit narrow, but several driveable par 3's for a big hitter. Unfortunately most if not all the greens were TINY and in terrible shape. Only a couple putts weren't swayed off course by impediments or unrepaired ball marks.
Staff was great, cart girl fun and talkative. Would play again if it was a hot deal, but wouldn't pay the regular price for those greens.
Nice course, but better not be a hurry.
We played on a Saturday afternoon and the front 9 took 3 plus hours The staff was apologetic and friendly, but we were out there for 5.5 hours for 18 holes. The course was in great shape and very challenging with tight fairways, smallish greens and a ton of long part 3's. I'd play it again next time I'm in the area.
Rivermoor
Nice course that is in nice shape. Some narrow fairways and greens are a little fast
Other courses in the area much better
We played for 4 hours and 30 mins and had to skip the last 3 holes because we had only made it thru 15. Pace of play was so horrible it was just painful. Ranger moved groups in front of us from front to back in his attempt to improve the pace of play. Greens looked like little children had dragged their baseball spikes across them. Course setup is horrible, for example, hole 10 is 2 holes away from hole 11, etc etc. Also, the overall spacing of the course is horrible. They have somehow managed to fit 18 holes in the spacing for about 9. If you are looking for good golf in the area I would recommend brightondale instead. I will never return to Rivermoor.
Don't play in the morning
This is a really nice course for the money. I have played this course two times now, both right away when they opened. During both of my experiences there were chainsaws ripping through the background my entire round. To add to the chainsaw noise, the grass cutters were very rude and would buzz right by you while trying to hit a shot. In the summer I golf 2-3 times a week. This course by far is the noisiest course I have ever played! If you would like to play this course I would recommend trying to play in the afternoon to try and avoid the noise.
Great course for the cost
This course was in great shape and the pace was also good. I would play this course again.
Love Rivermoor
Very mature course with lots of trees. Most of the holes are fairly straight but some challenging greens.
Nice value
Nice value when booking with Golf.now, but course needs a ranger to keep play moving along. The front nine took us 2 hours and 45 minutes.
very nice course, like it alot
played here a few times now, and have nothing but good things to say. People are all friendly from club house, bartenders, and beer cart girls. Course is very fun to play, some holes are easy, and some can be a little tricky. Thumbs up all the way.
The course is in great shape!
Played here for the first time in 9 years yesterday and today. The course is in great shape. Got great deals on GolfNow! Yesterday's 18 with cart for $16, awesome. Enjoyed it so much, I played 18 this morning.
This course is in very poor condition.,,.,,,no grass...greens stimp 4....total waste of time.....better to play in a corn field
