Rivermoor Golf Club
About
Originally opened in 1929 as the Waterford Woods Golf Course, the club reemerged in 2008 as the Rivermoor Golf Club. Along with its new name, the club also revealed improvements to the playability and condition of the 18-hole course. The design of the golf course was largely determined by the scenic topography, which is covered with mature trees and dotted with ponds. There are also a few streams that meander across the landscape. Rivermoor Golf Club is a proud member of the Audubon Sanctuary System. Beyond providing a secluded setting and great scenery, the terrain also makes for a challenging round. The trees frame most of the holes and water hazards come into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers with which to contend.

A day off work
I have play Rivermoor numerous times over the
years. I find the course challenging and fun. It is
not that long of a course which for me is good
because I don't hit as far as I used to. On 10/10/16
when I played with some friends, the weather was
perfect... sunny, about 68, nobody pushing us and
we didn't have to wait for anyone
Great Day
I've been playing Rivermoor for years absolutely love the course, unfortunately there was an outing the day I played and a 4 hour round was over 5 hours. If I was informed there was an outing that day. I wouldn't have played. Worst gold educate I've ever dealt with .
Look elsewhere until improvements are made.
Understaffed, boring course, cramped quarters, and plays easy difficulty. Major maintenance shortcomings, and driving range balls create confusion around neighboring holes due to location. I would consider playing again if given the proper attention it so badly needs, and would advise others to wait until it has received it. Desert-like patches on greens, rough, and fairways are inexcusable in this amount. Several bodies of water are poorly taken care of, creating an unpleasant atmosphere.
Dry
The tee boxes, fairways and greens all very dry and hard. Definitely needs some water. Pace of play was pretty slow. Lots of waiting at most tees.
Need a Ranger
Everyone looks for a lost golf ball, but more that a couple of minutes is to long.
Windy Round
Quite a windy day. Course played fast on the front 9 but a 3some of guys (inexperienced, all over the course, lots of practice swings) got in front of us on back 9. They weren't on the front 9. Really slowed the round down. No marshal on the course. Scorecard yardages didn't match actual yardages on some holes.
Greens are very small
Greens are small but soft allowing ball to stick on approach shots. Rough was very dry
Shaping up Nicely!!
I've been playing Rivermoor for the better part of 40 yrs. I've seen the good & the bad. But over the past few years, Rivermoor is getting back to it's "good old days". The tees & fairways & bunkers are in great shape. The only one little negative, the greens where just a little slow. But you can see the concerted effort made to improve this golf course & hopefully it will payoff with more players checking out this little gem soon. If you have never played here, don't be fooled by the lack of length. They're are some very tough longer par 4's. The fairways are narrow & tree lined & the greens are very small....Check it out, they are really discounting their rates through GN.
Pace of Play good for Memorial Day
We had good weather, the fairways are tight , but the length of the course is not that long. For a Memorial Day the pace of play was good.
Nice Course
I hadn't been to Rivermoor in a very long time. It was fun to be back. The course is in good shape, and the many trees and smaller greens make for a round of golf that is both challenging and fair.
Great round at Rivermoor
I've played here since I was a kid (20 years worth). New management has taken down more trees over the years, so it's not as tight as it used to play. Overall, the course is always in great condition from opening day through the fall.
Tee boxes could use a little TLC on a few holes, but I typically choose to play here when I can. The value is great, and their twilight rates are even better. It'd be OK with me if the clubhouse would crack down on dress code a bit more, but it's their discretion.
Bar was redone a few years back and the food is very good as well. There's a great deck to eat/drink on, and watch groups come up 18.
too busy
they put too many people on coarse
Good Time
Everything was excellent, The day was beautiful and the pace of play unreal 18 holes just under 3 hours
Nice nature view
Greens are kept clean, nice natural terrain, enjoyed scenery and great golf round.
Ttight fairways
The course was in great shape and we played in a little over 3 hrs! The guy behind the counter wasn't all that friendly, not a people person from what I saw. Still I will play here again
Nothing to drink...
It's Labor Day Monday and it's 85 degrees and extra humid. There's NO drink cart and NO drinking water anywhere on the course. I go into the bar and was informed they don't keep any bottled items there (water. soda, tea) those items are in the clubhouse. I walk over to the clubhouse and grab two iced teas. The person that was checking out the items I bought was nice. The man behind him was not. I question the lack of drink cart and he said they couldn't get anyone to drive the cart around today. Then I mention the lack of water jugs on the course and the man says in a snarky voice "Well there's some ponds out there." I have a sense of humor but that wasn't funny. I've never been to a course that didn't have either drink cart service or drinking water on the course, especially on one of the busiest and hottest days of the summer. The course was in ok shape except for around the pin. It was like someone was scraping their feet. I don't think I'll ever be going back.
Nice course
Course is very nice and fairly easy to play. Greens are really small and fast so be aware. Also, no drinking water available on the course and no beer cart person.
Nice little course
A few narrow fairways, but in excellent shape. Best time to play is after 10, unless you like fairways and greens full of dew. No drinking water on course or "cartgirl" while we played and finished at 11, so plan to bring your own hydration.
