Rivermoor Golf Club
About
Originally opened in 1929 as the Waterford Woods Golf Course, the club reemerged in 2008 as the Rivermoor Golf Club. Along with its new name, the club also revealed improvements to the playability and condition of the 18-hole course. The design of the golf course was largely determined by the scenic topography, which is covered with mature trees and dotted with ponds. There are also a few streams that meander across the landscape. Rivermoor Golf Club is a proud member of the Audubon Sanctuary System. Beyond providing a secluded setting and great scenery, the terrain also makes for a challenging round. The trees frame most of the holes and water hazards come into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers with which to contend.

Other courses in the area much better
We played for 4 hours and 30 mins and had to skip the last 3 holes because we had only made it thru 15. Pace of play was so horrible it was just painful. Ranger moved groups in front of us from front to back in his attempt to improve the pace of play. Greens looked like little children had dragged their baseball spikes across them. Course setup is horrible, for example, hole 10 is 2 holes away from hole 11, etc etc. Also, the overall spacing of the course is horrible. They have somehow managed to fit 18 holes in the spacing for about 9. If you are looking for good golf in the area I would recommend brightondale instead. I will never return to Rivermoor.
Don't play in the morning
This is a really nice course for the money. I have played this course two times now, both right away when they opened. During both of my experiences there were chainsaws ripping through the background my entire round. To add to the chainsaw noise, the grass cutters were very rude and would buzz right by you while trying to hit a shot. In the summer I golf 2-3 times a week. This course by far is the noisiest course I have ever played! If you would like to play this course I would recommend trying to play in the afternoon to try and avoid the noise.
Great course for the cost
This course was in great shape and the pace was also good. I would play this course again.
Love Rivermoor
Very mature course with lots of trees. Most of the holes are fairly straight but some challenging greens.
Nice value
Nice value when booking with Golf.now, but course needs a ranger to keep play moving along. The front nine took us 2 hours and 45 minutes.
very nice course, like it alot
played here a few times now, and have nothing but good things to say. People are all friendly from club house, bartenders, and beer cart girls. Course is very fun to play, some holes are easy, and some can be a little tricky. Thumbs up all the way.
The course is in great shape!
Played here for the first time in 9 years yesterday and today. The course is in great shape. Got great deals on GolfNow! Yesterday's 18 with cart for $16, awesome. Enjoyed it so much, I played 18 this morning.
Slow Play, But Nice Old Course
Rivermoor is an old style wooded course with smallish greens and always seems to be in good shape, the pace of play is another thing, the old owner group always maintained a ranger to move players on, I did not see one ranger and only one beverage cart out, which did a great job, the round took 5hrs & 15 min to complete and was not overly enjoyable!!
Hole In One
Course was in very good shape. Small greens, tight fairways, so beware. Did make a Hole In One on #13, 142 yard par 3 over two huge bunkers.
raindrops only
even though rain threatened it was a good day and course is in very shape good for mid-May. the back nine was being played first, which made me wonder why. was a men's/women's league clogging up the front nine? was the front nine wet and they were avoiding some use by having all nine-holers on the back? this did not seem to be the case either way, but the pace was quite a bit different. it affected playability. perhaps the raindrops were causing movement on/off the course and slowing play. still, it is getting green and they are in good shape nonetheless. june should be great there.
Great Value
Have lunch or drinks on the deck and watch golfers play 18
food always super
well kept late into the season
Played this course Nov 15th and was pleasantly surprised at how well the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were kept seeing that it was late in the season, highly recommended, great friendly staff
Overall Nice Course
This is a course I would play again. It isn't a long, but there are a few 400+ yd holes. Most of the holes are fairly tight with a little room for error. I like the greens. They were quick and rolled nicely--helping me sink more putts. The course was laid out nicely and I think I would have been able to enjoy it a little more if it wasn't so cold and rainy.
Good
We played in about 4 hrs on a Sunday morning. The greens were in very good shape but the fairways were muddy and a little bare. Had a good time.
good but would be better with fairways improvement
good course; fairways need deeper grass/turf; rather sparse throughout.
Nicely updated!
It was a pleasant round. We had not played the course for nearly 5 years. And it was nice to see lots of remodeling done. The electric carts are great also.
Short, narrow and small greens
Early morning pace of play was great.Electric carts were a bonus.Course was in good shape. Some narrow fairways meant some accurate shots. All bunckers were wet and hard making sand play very difficult.
Challenging Economical Course
Course was in great shape; greens are fast but smooth-very well maintained. Front nine plays longer but fair; really enjoyed our round
This course is in very poor condition.,,.,,,no grass...greens stimp 4....total waste of time.....better to play in a corn field
