Golden Oaks Golf Club
About
Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa. is considered one of Berks County's finest courses with a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also named it as one of the top "Places to Play." It was voted the "Best Public Course" by readers of Berks County Magazine. Designed by local architect Jim Blaukovitch, the golf course has a classic design that appeals to players of all skill levels. The course has wide, inviting fairways but there are also some challenges provided by the rolling terrain, featuring elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Be prepared for a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Trees line Golden Oaks Golf Club's fairways and strategically placed bunkers protect the greensides. The golf course has some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Friday PM w/son
The course had a tournament in the morning. We booked what we were told was the first time after tournament. WRONG. 2 groups before us, but theyplayed pretty quick until the back 9. They took a long time at halfway house and we waited on all but 2 holes (17 & 18). Course was in best shape I have seen in years. Greens were good speed, and accepted a shot. Only downside is the pricing policy. Just not sure how/what they charge. Like playing here, but as a senior, I can not afford close to $100 to take my son for a friendly round.
Very Nice Fun Challenging Course
Had a great time here. My wife stated so far this was her favorite course she ever played.
The best
Don’t play it enough. Few times a year. By far best course in a 45 minute radius of me. Keep up the good work
Country club conditions
The course is beautiful. The fairways are wide and the greens are large. The tees allow you to challenge yourself. The par 3s are not short, which is challenging. I wish more golfers would fix their ball marks because the greens are large and roll nicely. Overall, I would say this is one of the best courses in the region at a great price. The shack at the turn has great beverage choices. The restaurant and bar is top notch; a beverage on the patio after 18 is recommended.
Great Day @ Golden Oaks
Have played here several times in past 2 years. Drove hour and fifteen from New Jersey for the strong layout and conditions...particularly the greens. Didn't disappoint. Only observation is bunkers need some sand. Otherwise teeboxes, fairways, and greens in great shape. Course is right in front of you, no gimmicks, fair test of golf. Staff is great and seems to attract a chill crowd. I walked as the elevation changes are subtle and it's very pretty with essentially no houses etc. to distract. Really nice layout...if you haven't played here give it a shot and I guarantee it will be in your rotation.
Nicer course than most others
Well maintained course. Great fairways, great putting greens. Nice new golf carts. Even the bunkers are in great shape. I enjoy playing here.
Awesome
Beautiful course and staff. Well maintained and greens are excellent. Love playing here.
Favorite course never disappoints
love they have a range. putting green mimics course exactly. starter super friendly! course in awesome condition with the best greens around! course layout requires thinking before ripping :). all this and a golfnow hot deal! definitely will be back soon
Unplayable Bunkers
At first glance the bunkers look decent, raked but the sand under the surface has not been maintained! Like hitting off a sandy cart path.
Before you think this guy doesn’t know the correct technique, up until last year I played 125+ rounds of golf per year, maintaining a 7 hdcp with 45 yrs of experience. I played out of a lot of bunkers!
Either work to release the compaction of the sand or add more sand.
Basically ruined a decent score.
Other than the lousy bunkers, I know just don’t hit into them, it a great course and worth the price of admission.
Great Day on a Great Course
My wife and I can see why this has been ranked highly among public courses. Maybe a hair slow but finished in under four hours. Great layout with nice elevation changes true greens and appropriate variety. Love the “Tin Cup” finishing par 5! Definitely will play again
Ray. Allen
Absolutely one of the best course in the area for course condition and friendly staff and excellent greens.
Love the layout
One of my favorites. Greens are true and roll out, even after rain the night before. Did not wait at any hole or for any shot. My one criticism is the bunkers. Although some were a product of the rain the night before some are in need of improvement regardless of weather. All the staff from the pro shop to the starter were friendly and courteous. Greens fees compared to other courses are fair. They stack up well. I've paid more for less. I love the layout of the course. There isn't a single hole that i dislike.
The only off course amenity that I experienced is the snack shack at the turn. The hot dogs are great!!
Hidden Gem
Course is a hidden gem. Not too many people know about it, which makes it special. As you pull up to the bagdrop you think your pulling up to a ski lodge. They have a range, and huge putting green to get warmed up before your round. The course itself is a treat, each hole has a unique feature that you can remember after your round. Greens were firm, fast, and true. Pace of play was good for a Saturday morning, and on course amenities included a bathroom for my way in the middle of each 9, as well as a beer cart, and fully stocked halfway house. The pro shop had a good selection of clothes from different manufactures and were a fair price. After our round we had dinner, which was fantastic with a good drink selection. Definitely worth the drive if you live further away.
