Golden Oaks Golf Club

normally golden oaks has awesome greens. unfortunately the greens were aerated two weeks ago and were in horrible condition! every green was bumpy and putting was an adventure. not fun at all!

First time playing Golden Oaks, and I would do it again. Course is well-maintained, has a nice layout, and provides friendly fairways for the average golfer.

Greens were not in playable shape at all, very sandy, mushy, and recently aerated. If you played for a fast putt, the ball would ramp left and right off the sandy holes and stop way short, if you played for a slow putt you would hit the ball too hard and it would skip over the sandy green and go past the hole. Had we known the greens were this bad ahead of time, we would not have played there. Normally a treat to play but not this round.

My favorite place to be when in the area. Wonderful course, wonderful staff and wonderful owners.

Pace of play was slow. Group in front of us held us up and 3 groups behind us. No Ranger on the course to help speed up play. Sand traps were so bad, most of the time we did not play from them. The rest of the course was in good shape considering the amount of rain we have had in the area.

Course it self very nice. The outside bar was not open so you have to go all the way inside for a beer. Also, bar was closed when we were done.

Need to keep concessions open and add a drink/food cart.

I enjoyed this course because of the challenges within it. The pace was slow in the back 9 and since playing by myself and the pair in front was hitting two or three balls at a time it was slowing the pace down. But not going to take away from my experience. Definitely coming back again.

I usually play this course several times per year because its a hour away. Usually always in good condition, greens are fast but fair and the course layout makes it fun.

This past round was only marred by the closed snack hut at the turn where we couldnt get our usual Fiesta Dogs

Could not have picked a better day to play, the weather was perfect and due to many high school graduation events, the course was not crowded at all. After all the rain last year and the damage it did to areas on the course, it was nice to see most of that was gone, course was in great condition! Played as a twosome and completed the round in 3 hours and 15 minutes (unheard of on a Saturday at GO). Bag drop attendant and pro shop were friendly and polite. Only two small issues, no beverage cart (since you can't bring drinks on the course, this would have been nice) and no attendant at the half way shack. Not a big deal but would have been nice to know ahead of time. All in all it was an enjoyable day and a pleasant round!

Caught a Golfnow hot deal for the Memorial Day Monday. Weather was great, conditions very good. As unbelievable as it sounds, no one in front of us and no one caught up to push us either.

A favorite course which if it was closer to my home would be played weekly.
