Fun course
George Dunne is fun and challenging to play (can make it easier by moving up tee boxes). You get to use every club in your bag. Course was in pretty good shape, especially with the lack of rain in June. Even though the course was dry it was cart path only, which slowed down play. It was a little over a 5 hour round. My only complaint is that the bunkers were rock hard but not that big of a deal in my eyes. With that said I’ll likely play it a couple more times this year. One of my favorite Chicagoland courses.
Great place!
Course was in tip top shape. Cart path only which slows you down but worth it given the condition of the course. You will be hitting over water and many of the holes have sand on 3 sides of the green.
Hanging Strong
Despite the challenges all courses are having these days, especially the ones with loads of huge bunkers, George Dunne is hanging strong as a really fun golf challenge. Yes, you have to rake & roll in every bunker. Yes, you have to decide what to do around the greens when you have a bare lie in a spot not originally intended to be bare. But yes, this track will still test your game as it always has, and as of yesterday the fairways and greens are in great shape. They've been smart this year about where they're spending their water budget, and the staff is as friendly as always.
A++ Maintenance
I cannot overemphasize enough the impressive condition of the meticulously manicured terrain @ George Dunne, as I really enjoyed my golfing experience at this venue….also, the staff were courteous, friendly and accommodating….will be back soon.
Cut the grass and get some sand
I know it’s the week of the US Open, but cut the grass around the greens!
Lack of sand has been a problem for years. I live a mile away and won’t play it unless it’s a last resort.
This course is a great layout
Bunkers much improved since last time playing but round took 5 1/2 hours unacceptable.
Worst pace ever
There was an Outing before us. 6 hours round. Same thing happened when we pkayed there last year. Never played this course again.
Great course a must play
Really challenging layout which requites a variety of shot and strategy to score.
Solid Forest Preserve Course
This is the best Forest Preserve course I have played in terms of course layout. The conditions are still dry and not in great shape but it was enjoyable. The pace of play wasn’t great and the course was backed up a lot from the course over booking.
Back nine fail
Pretty nice course in the south burbs but unfortunately the threesome in front of us was not concerned about pace of play. Numerous shots and looked for balls too long. The back nine took 3 hours after a solid front nine. Pretty solid greens for the lack of rain and very nice personnel on the course. They need to not be as nice and crack the whip!
Bunkers are horrible
For such a nice course they need sand now dirt in bunkers. Greens were very good. Also cart person never showed until 9 th hole on front and on 10th and 17th. They need to visit the other homes especially on hot days.
