Rough was really rough
The course always plays tough for me, but this time you could tell the rough had not been cut recently or was just higher than normal. Also the heat the last few days made for extremely fast greens
Pace of play
Waiting on every hole to tee off. All this due to Starter allowing two somes to go out. Should have paired them with other 2 somes.
Bunkers Need Attention
Excellent layout and conditions, given the tremendous amount of rain this spring. Greens were fast and smooth. However, the liner material is visible in numerous bunkers. Other large bunkers didn't have rakes. It is definitely an area that needs attention.
Good condition for cart path only
Traps need work
Excellent staff
Used to be the best
This course used to be one of the best on the south side however they have really let it go. Sand traps eroded and filled with water, tee boxes in bad shape, cart path is miserable. Needs a total redo. Just a shame what they’ve done or rather haven’t done.
Excellent
Excellent course. Huge challenge from the tips. Plenty for the average golfers from the whites. Hard to believe you are in the metro area. Very wooded and isolated.
Things never change
we like to play Dunne early in the year before the 5 hour rounds begin. that didn’t stop a 3-some of walkers in front of our 4-some. For the entire round every hole in front of them was wide open. we were on them every step of the round. especially irritating was when they left their carts in the lay-up zone on par 5 #11 while they walked to/putted out. Yeah there are idiots on most courses; my complaint is that Dunne NEVER has any rangers out there to police this non-sense. Bunkers are complete disaster; we were told to play as GUR. Again: things never change.
Bunkers rake and place
Bunkers were not maintained yet. No rakes were furnished so I could pick rake and place
Excellent value. Good course layout but needs some maintenance on cart paths.
The cart paths were in poor shape. Course was fair, considering it's spring. Overall a good course layout but excellent value. Employees were excellent with customer service from desk to starter. Way better than when run by Cook County!
slow play day
Great course, great staff. It was cart paths only which will understandably slow play. However, this early in season there are no rangers. Therefore, a fivesome followed by the slowest 4 some (who didnt have a clue as how to play cart golf) I have ever seen had the entire course backed up. 4 hrs, 25 minutes later we walked off after playing only 13 holes. Lesson learned, play earlier when people who know how to play, play!
Great Experience
Considering the wet weather the course was in good shape. The bunkers were rough, many foot prints, hard caked mud/sand mix, but that should get better as we get into May. $.5 hour round which is much better than usual here.
