Great Course for the cost
Cost to what you get is awesome. Lot of sand, and the bunkers could use some work, but other than that course was great.
Very nice course and very good value
Nice course and very good value. Interesting course layout with a variety of holes. Bunkers have been fixed (a problem in prior years). Rough inconsistent in some areas, but generally good. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Great layout
This is a great golf course except for the condition of the bunkers. Most were unplayable. It is such a shame because it is such a great layout. Tees and fairways good, rough tough, greens in good condition but too slow for a course of this caliber.
Tough, still one of my favorites
I never shoot great here, but I still love the course. I've never played it and NOT seen either deer or coyote. Tee boxes are level, greens play true, fairways are decent. But the bunkers need some fresh sand. Also, the bunkers are huge and they have one rake each, which always seems to be laying on the opposite side from where my ball is. It doesn't matter to me, but clearly no one else makes the walk to the rake because I landed in a several footprints and raked out others' divots multiple times. Back 9 is no picnic, I'm usually exhausted after playing this course. But it's still a classic, one of the best Muni Courses in the Midwest.
Sand Bunkers Need Work
There are a lot of bunkers through the course - especially the front nine. The issue is that not one of them had been raked by staff at the beginning of the day or potentially the entire year. They were 75% unplayable which added five stroke to an already difficult course / 136 Slope.
Great course but terrible sand traps
For the amount of sand traps on the course .. one would think they would be in great condition and maintained up to par … one thing I wish the course would look into. Overall tho still one of the best layouts around town
Course was in good shape always love this course really could not understand cart path only but I know they have rules there was only 2 holes that were questionable but over all I will always go back!
Rough was really rough
The course always plays tough for me, but this time you could tell the rough had not been cut recently or was just higher than normal. Also the heat the last few days made for extremely fast greens
Pace of play
Waiting on every hole to tee off. All this due to Starter allowing two somes to go out. Should have paired them with other 2 somes.
Bunkers Need Attention
Excellent layout and conditions, given the tremendous amount of rain this spring. Greens were fast and smooth. However, the liner material is visible in numerous bunkers. Other large bunkers didn't have rakes. It is definitely an area that needs attention.
Good condition for cart path only
Traps need work
Excellent staff
Used to be the best
This course used to be one of the best on the south side however they have really let it go. Sand traps eroded and filled with water, tee boxes in bad shape, cart path is miserable. Needs a total redo. Just a shame what they’ve done or rather haven’t done.
Excellent
Excellent course. Huge challenge from the tips. Plenty for the average golfers from the whites. Hard to believe you are in the metro area. Very wooded and isolated.
Things never change
we like to play Dunne early in the year before the 5 hour rounds begin. that didn’t stop a 3-some of walkers in front of our 4-some. For the entire round every hole in front of them was wide open. we were on them every step of the round. especially irritating was when they left their carts in the lay-up zone on par 5 #11 while they walked to/putted out. Yeah there are idiots on most courses; my complaint is that Dunne NEVER has any rangers out there to police this non-sense. Bunkers are complete disaster; we were told to play as GUR. Again: things never change.
