The road back to greatness!
After years of struggle, National is back. The new superintendent knows what he is doing. I played at 6am so pace wasn't an issue...but don't count on GPS or yardage markers. Fairways are tight and in great shape. Greens are in solid 9am and rolling nice. Bunkers are still a bit of a challenge but not horrible. Make sure take care of bathroom breaks at the turn as there are no immunities. Dan the starter was very nice and welcoming.
Overall..this is a championship course from yellows and a fun challenge from others.. If Troon supports this Superintendent then this will be back on the top 25 list.

Course needs work
Brown areas needs more watering. Sands traps without sand.
Need rangers on course to keep pace of play flowing. 2 hours front nine. 2 hours 40 minutes back nine. Not good.

No restrooms on the course!
The course conditions were great, staff was friendly but there were no toilets or Portable toilets on the course!

The carts did not have GPS when I played 6/11/21. The course is horribly marked regarding yardages. Otherwise is in fantastic shape and is a great tough course to play.

Hot Muggy Sunday
Although I was feeling good about my play in recent weeks, there were some things that I experienced that would benefit all if addressed in a timely manner. First, the bunkers. I believe that they are the worse ones around the area. So inconsistent and not raked, stones within will damage your equipment. Steer clear. One positive taken is that the course finally has pin position sheets for those playing and wanting to have an idea of the green sizes, and location of the flag

Great place to play
Pace was great. Course is in good shape. It’s a tough fun course. Only complaint is that the sprinklers were on when my group was on the 16th hole. Other than that, great course and staff.

George Dunne is Back!
We had almost an inch of rain the night before and the course handled it well. The green are looking better than last year although growing back after being punched three weeks ago.
Traps were in better shape but with the kind of “sand” they are using these days, it does not stand up well to wetness. Really disappointed in the type of sand they are using these days. It appears to be more like dirt than sand and it is not very fluffy, especially after a rain.

Pace: can be slow, and I have never seen a ranger come out to address slow play.
Conditions: tees and fairways were great. Greens still recovering from aeration. Bunkers were inconsistent, so we started playing them as GUR. Some were hard at the bottom.
Staff: excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. On a Wednesday the cart girl came by at least 4 times.
Value: very fair weekday walking rates.
Layout: one of my favorite. Long from the blue tees, so try the white tees. 17 and 18 are great finishing holes.
