Needs a couple of things
1. How about coolers of water. No more pandemic excuses
2. Sand traps are awful. No sand, no drainage
3. 4.5 hours on carts? No ranger to help move things along
On the other hand, the course is challenging and beautiful
Sand traps need sand
Most traps were in terrible condition. Wouldn’t be an issue, but course has a lot of large traps.
Pace of play was slow, but not terrible.
All but the traps
This is a beautiful layout. Choose the correct tee box and you will use every club in your bag. Greens are smooth and roll true, firm but not rock hard.
As for the traps, just declare ahead of time they are unfair and you get a free drop. There is about 1/2 inch of sand at the most, then just hard clay. Maybe the pro's can play out of them, but I doubt they would even try.
Clubhouse staff was truly a pleasant group of people. Made me feel welcomed and made me feel like they were happy I was there.
Definitely will recommend this course again.

Bunkers need much work
This course is in better shape than it has been in a while, but unfortunately most of the many huge bunkers are in poor shape and at the very least need an infusion of new sand, for the sake of those of us who actually know how to play an explosion shot. I hope this is done sooner rather than later. Pace of play is never fast at Dunne, as it's a really hard course, but it's been better since they changed to 10-minute increments. The layout is second to none, but please, please, please add some sand to the bunkers. It's a real problem.

The bunkers are terrible full of dirt and mud and rocks

Course was overall in good shape as far as greens Fairways and tea boxes.
The traps were basically dirt, which was disappointing

Great Views
The course is in the middle of the Forest Preserve. Layout is beautiful. Tees, fairway and greens in good shape. The abundant bunkers were in rough shape. Almost no sand in any bunker. It was tough figuring out how to hit from hard pan surface.
