George W Dunne National Golf Course

Played yesterday and the fairways were like carpet. Greens rolled nice, a little slower than normal. Traps, however, suck. They are like concrete and in order to play them, it is necessary to agitate the sand with a rake before hitting a shot.

Decided last minute to play a round. My buddy and I chose Dunne. For 37 with a cart it’s a steal. Course was in great shape except bunkers were like concrete with the lack of rain. The rest of the course was tip top. We had pin position 3 out there and I’m certain the greenskeeper is sadistic with his positioning. We loved it. The woods now has a decent selection of ProV1, and Srixon Z Stars for your picking enjoyment. Watch the poison ivy…

I've always been a fan of George Dunn until recently. For whatever reason the sand traps have been completely neglected. Most are hard as concrete w/o any sand. Can't even rack and place as there's no sand to rack. Literally EVERY trap is this way. Also, many many greens had unrepaired ball marks. I tried to repair 4-5 extras every green but still a lot to do. Pains me to write this review as I've always loved the layout. Fix the traps!!!

Really great course. Challenging, and kept me playing. The people who run the course do a really good job.

A great course layout. Plenty of bunkers but those bunkers need sand!!! Most were just dirt!! Otherwise the course is great!!

Would be a championship style course except for the bunkers. Had to pull the ball out of most of the bunkers because they were impossible to hit out of. Great fairways and greens though.

Great course, great views, great staff, terrible bunkers, which is unfortunate when they surround nearly every green or fairway. Not only were they like concrete (possibly due to the weather lately) but some of them have huge wasps flying all around them to the point I saw 1-2 balls, that I’m assuming were intentionally left there to avoid getting stung.

Zero to little sand in the bunkers. There are several on each hole too. The up keep I assume would be a lot, but the bunkers are absolute garbage with them being basically dirt.

A shame that they are not keeping this course in the condition it deserves because it is a great course. Bunkers are bad and grass clippings in many of the fairways. Pace of play slow.
