Poor shape
Golf now list it as 6500 yards, course scorecard has it at 5800 yards from the back . Very bad layout and very poor conditions. Don't waste your money.
It is different
The course is not my favorite but I like playing there. I am going back in mid-summer and the fairways will have a lot of grass. The course requires a lot of thinking on tee shots and approach shots and I like that. The more you play it the more you will like and you will know where and where not to hit the ball. It is fair as far as play goes, you just need to know where to place your shots. My friends and I will play it again..
Better Second Time Around
This is a course that gets better the more you play it. There are a lot of blind shots and sloping greens and fairways that playing for middle of either could find yourself looking for your balls even after what you thought was a good shot it is an interesting and fun course to play once you gain some course knowledge
It would rate better is the condition of the fairways were better maintained
Seems like every green slopes so badly it is extremely hard to keep balls on the green. Wish a professional designer had designed the course. County side, lakes and forest look great. Many holes have people teeing off directly at you on the green or along beside you. Pretty dangerous.
Great for the money
Greens are well kept, pretty course, fairways a bit choppy but expected
Oak Hills Continues to Improve
The greens were aerified a few weeks ago and have come in nicely. The Bermuda grass fairways are a few weeks away from being plush.
The ownership of this course has poured some $$ into making this course better. A few trees have been cut down on holes 17 and 18 to make them more playable. Numerous tee boxes have been sodded and are looking good.
I enjoy this course because it has a laid-back feel and is tranquil. The people who work here are very friendly. I'll be back numerous times this year.
Get what you pay for
This is an unusual layout with many blind tee shots and some blind approach shots. It's probably more fund for those quite familiar with it. Greens are in good shape, though slopes make it difficult and hold.
Great course in the summer. When the grass is green.
Fun Course
Very wet but still playable.
This is a short shot makers type of course.
Fun Course
Good course. Disappointed that not able to use GPS
Oak Hills
Oak Hills is a quite and nice course to play. The biggest concern is playing during the week. People that have to work can’t get to the course until 430 or so and the carts have to be in nearly an hour before dark. There needs to be a better method to allow the carts out till dark.
The staff is wonderful !
This course is near my home I play here more than anywhere else Sometimes I only play nine holes the staff doesn’t mind if I play the front nine or the back nine I’m always in and out I enjoy this course
Course condition
A lot of leaves on course. Heavy build up around sloping greens. Lost a couple of balls in these build ups.
Hello, Kiowa. Thank you for taking the time to leave Oak Hills Golf Course a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars due to leaf maintenance, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Only one problem
When I first signed up I was never told that booking a tee time had restrictions. I knew I could not use my membership on the weekends but was never told certain memberships had priority which restricts me booking during the week. If I were told this up front I would have never joined
Course in great shape
The course is in great shape for this time of year. Greens are pretty firm and fast.
Beautiful course - great folks !
Really enjoy this course - views are great - folks there are very friendly/considerate
Putting green - chipping greens - recently added a net for warming up/practicing
Thanks for your great comments! We appreciate everyone that plays the course but we really want to thank those that give us some good feed back.
