Oak Hills Golf Course

Really enjoyed playing this course again as haven't played it in some time. Course is always enjoyable to play. Course needed rain as it was dry and hard (hit your approach shots short) but enjoyable and nothing anyone could do anything about. Played in about 3 hours as wasn't crowded and if we caught up with someone they insisted we go ahead. Very courteous players. Will play again.

This course has made numerous improvements in the 30 days since I last played it. Several tee boxes have been sodded and are taking shape. Only one green has any trouble spots (#12); the other 17 are full and putting well.

I'm pleased with the efforts being put forth to make this course better, and I'll be back.

Was blown away by the poor conditions. Tee boxes were uneven and not cut very good. Could not get your tee into the ground due to ground being so hard. Looks like the course could use some water.

The staff was the best part, they were very friendly. We went to the putting green and it was very shaggy & slow. The course is somewhat hilly that leads to a lot of blind shots which is the challenge of the course. The entire course is very very hard, from tee to green. You could land a full wedge just short of the green & it would bounce off the back of the green. The tee boxes, fairways & greens were inconsistent being very shaggy with taller grass or cut nicely just hard. Better off saving my money & not playing or playing somewhere else.

It was decent and cheap for a last minute round, but I wouldnt play it again if I had other options. Tee boxes were mostly uneven and green speeds were really inconsistent. It's a basic Muni course, it will do in a pinch.

Out with friend. Showed him the course layout. His first time there. Lost a couple of balls in high rough (clover).

Had some issues making tee time. Paired up with some great guys. Had good round and met some first timers at the course.

Fairways and tee boxes are sparse, some tees have no grass at all. Greens are inconsistent and shaggy, need to be rolled and cut evenly.

Better than not playing golf but not by a whole lot

I have played this course several times. The pace of play is usually very good, but today it was a bit slow. Took us 4 hours, 25 minutes to finish.

There are several fairways that need some work. It was good to see the fairway on hole #6 roped off to keep the carts on the path. This will give the grass a chance to grow. Some sprigging / planting is also needed on holes 10 and 18.

Work is underway on several tee boxes. Looking forward to getting back on the regular tee boxes in a few weeks.

As the course name suggests, this course is hilly. Every par-4 and par-5 has elevation changes, some significant.

I will play this course again, but will wait until late May when the grass has come in a bit better.

This was the worst course I have ever played, which is a shame because with the right staff it could be a decent course. Course condition was terrible, tee boxes were a mess, greens were in poor shape, fairways were non existent, and the rough was basically stones and dirt. When it came to pace of play, the course was overloaded and it seemed like there was no ranger to control this. Amenities were slim to say the least. And the staff although nice was in no rush. Overall I would never recommend this course to someone, not even if they were my enemy!

Not only had a group jump in on the front nine, but also had a single jump on in on a very full course on the back nine. It is not surprising the course never generated a rhythm of play. This was literally after the ranger instructed us when to tee off. Never saw the ranger again.

They also are selling unlimited golf memberships for something like $60/year over the next 3 years, I expect this course to be jampacked every weekend for the next 3 years.

Hard packed to the point where drives were running 50-100 extra yards and chipping was near impossible. Greens were all top dressed with sand, heavily, to the point you were practically putting on the beach.

It's a fun course, but a lot of blind shots, a lot of maintenance ongoing, and pace of play is an issue.

I'd tag this for midsummer when the maintenance has taken effect and for a midweek round. It's a nice little spot, just time your visit accordingly.

The weather was great. You immediately noticed groups of 5 and 6 playing together. Every hole backed up. Greens areated and sanded. Same got the fairways.

Where was a ranger?

Tee boxes were bare, fairways were dormant, greens had been aereatedband & sanded 3/15 (day before).

Interesting and challenging layout, no bunkers, lots of blind approach shots and water. Played with two locals who were very helpful with tee-off directions. 5-some in front of us were very slow, a ranger would have been helpful.

First 17 holes were great, and the 18th drive not too bad either. But apparently the geese that inhabit the pond are such bad pests that the TWRA has the need to put 5 shots of steel shot into the birds sitting on the pond. Yes that’s right, not only are they shooting geese on the pond, but also in the middle of the golf course, at 12:30 in the afternoon. So if you don’t mind some guy shooting guns off in your backswing potentially in your direction then this is the course for you, but if you’re like me and care about your own safety and respect the course you may want to find another place to spend your money.

Strategic and clean. Best when using golfing app for tee, fairway, hole, description.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Course was ok for a winter round especially after a few days of zero weather. Layout is challenging and several blind shots. Will be back this spring
