Birthday boy
My wife treated me to a day of golf at Oak Hills and it was marvelous. The clubhouse is not fancy, but that suited us fine. The staff is very friendly and the club pro met us at the first tee box as we were preparing to hit. He was very hospitable and explained the course to us. We love the course and will definitely return when we come back to Nashville. There is NO SAND, which is OK with us. My wife absolutely loves this course and cannot wait to return. We highly recommend Oak Hills for anyone. It is well maintained and very fair. Just a couple of holes with water to hit over. The price is definitely right and well worth the money. Thank you Oak Hills Golf !!
First time to play this fun course. It won't be the last.
I visited Oak Hills for the first time. It won't be my last visit. We played 27 holes in just over 4.5 hours on a Saturday afternoon. They have great rates and the replay is just $6 per 9 holes. I plan to add it to my regular course rotation. The main negatives were no true driving range (although there appeared to be a practice area if you bring your shag bag.) and a few bare spots on a couple of fairways and tees. The clubhouse is old, but that doesn't really matter to me. I don't spend much time inside. The staff was extremely friendly and polite.
Now to the course. There are several blind shots that will give you problems on your first visit. The second time we played the front nine we knew what to expect. #2 is a bear and a grizzly bear at that. It is a tight par 5 that is a real challenge. A couple of par 5's are very reachable in 2 and there is one par 4 on the back 9 that is reachable. The front nine has several very challenging holes and the back 9 was just a lot of fun to play. The greens were nice and rolled true. I hope to play this course many more times.
Oak Hills
The 2nd hole is the most challenging hole I've ever ever seen. Lucky to get out with a six.
Oak Hills in Greenbrier, TN
This is a great course. The greens are in super good condition. Well worth the trip and the money.
Will play again
My wife and I really enjoyed the round. We will play again. Almost had the course to our self.
Had one single came up and we let him play through.
Not a bad course
We played a few days after they had air-aided the course so fairways were bad. Some tee boxes were bad also, but greens were good. I will be back once fairways get better.
Great Condition!
Fairways in great shape!
Greens in great condition!
Staff has done an excellent job on Greens&Fairways., last year fairways were bad and greens had bad spots cudos to the staff!
Very well kept course
This is my new honey hole!! My boy and I had a great time. The course kinda reminded me of the old Shelby course I grew up on. The greens were some of the sweetest iv'e putted on in awhile. I will be going back to visit in the near future! Go out and play 18 there and you will go back as well. The very short par three in my book is one of the toughest of the 18.
Straight forward course
The course was in great shape. Some difficult holes along with straight forward holes.
great course for hot deals price
This course was a challenge for the first attempt, but I will definitely be back to conquer. Several blind shots but overall nice play
Bad course conditions
The Fairways and tee boxes were the worst I've seen
Good for practice I guess...
The term 'Country Club' on their sign is used very loosely here. I found a GolfNow for $25 for 18 plus cart and just needed to get my first round of the year out of the way. Very poor fairways and T box. Greens were fair. Also a short course. I wasn't expecting too much but it fell below my already low expectations. Play elsewhere unless you get a great deal... like free.
Locals were rude
A foursome ahead of me didn't let me play through them for 5 holes. I was golfing by myself and I left the round early because the pace was so slow. I understand that people become comfortable at their home course but it was rediculous. I will not be returning.
Great Value for the Price
Interesting layout, great pace of play (we finished in under 4 hours on a Saturday morning). Greens were in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes were a bit rough. Quite a few blind tee shots, but a straight tee shot will generally keep you out of trouble.
Not all that great...
Biggest problems of this course are the following.
No driving range, and fairways are in just horrid condition. Also a few of the holes the way they are set up, are just terrible, and force you to lay up no matter how good you are. A lot need to be done to this place before I ever consider going back.
Course has great potential...
Some money spent on seed, watering and this track
has unlimited potential...right now rounds are very inexpensive so the lack of "plush" conditions should be expected, but worth it.
great value, great staff
Super nice staff members made this a memorable outing. The course was in much better shape than I expected given the crazy weather we experienced this spring. The par 3's are more fun than most in the area, too.
course is nice for average golfer.
There are some challenging holes but forgiving fairways. Greens in excellent shape fairways OK. Grounds keeper made a point to let us know they were aerating the fairways next week. I will play it again.
Sweet Course
Oak Hills has very well maintained greens they are smaller than average but fair. Fairways are in good condition. Considering we played 18 with cart on Sunday for $20 there is no doubt I will be back because it's a great value and easy to play in under 4 hours.
Beautiful course layout, poor conditions
My brother and I played this course yesterday and for the money it was just soso. First the positives. The course is laid out beautifully and the greens are in decent condition as well as quite challenging. The negatives are the fairway conditions. Mostly dirt so you actually want to stay just off the edge of the fairway to get a little grass lol. However know this. If you go out of the fairway you WILL NOT find your ball in the overgrown grass and clippings! We've had plenty of rain so really there is no excuse for the fairways to be like this. Probably will not play again at this course.
