Older course. Grass trimmings everywhere
I will not be back to this course. After we finished our round we went to the pro shop to return the cart keys and get our licenses back, however the pro shop was locked up and it took us 30 minutes to get in and get our licenses. The lady that worked in there was being dropped off at the front door as we were walking out.
Course has many different types of holes
Will play again, like the many different holes, doglegs, blind tee shoots, slanted greens, uphill and down hill fairways and greens, rough was very high and thick, greens not the best, a little bumpy but not terrible, first time playing but will be back.
Excellent course, fun and challenging
Great course to play for the beginner and the seasoned golfer, a lot of fun and staff was very nice
fun to play
Enjoyable to play except for the slow rate of play.Sloping greens made putting tricky for people use to fairly flt greens.
Good course for the money if you like hills.
The course is with a small country club that now allows the public to play. It is very hilly and has a lot of blind tee shots and shots to the greens. You need to play more than once to get familiar enough to know where to hit your ball. Be careful driving the carts, some pretty dangerous places with old carts. Over all, a very good course for the price. It is a nice day in the hills with very few homes affecting the feeling of being in the country.
I almost don't want to share how surprised I was at this course...
I just moved to Springfield from Hendersonville and thought The Legacy was my only option. It's a great option, but Oak Hills in Greenbrier is easier, in great shape, and I played 18 holes by myself in 2:15. I'm a mid-handicap player and shot an 83 yesterday. It reminds me of a mixture between Shelby's hills and the open layout of Windtree.
I'd recommend it to anyone in the area and can't wait to play it again.
Very Challenging
This is a pretty nice course. The greens were nice and fairways were recently cut. It played fast and hard. The par 3's were worse then the par 5's. But that's what I like about the course.
Not a bad little track
Nice course for intermediate players to work on their short to mid iron game. Not a long course by any means in that sense but the small greens and some blind shots will make you play target golf. I am not a long hitter at all and played from the blues. Had a really good time though. I would go back.
Overall, a nice, inexpensive day on the course!
The first four holes are difficult, ecspecially if you get above the hole. After that, this is a fairly normal country golf course. The clubhouse includes Amy's Grill! The cheeseburgers are a must at the turn. Great Value and a fun course to play!
doesn't need to be on golfnow
Course has interesting layout. It is in decent shape for an older country club. I drove an hour to get up there only to be told by the rude woman working in the clubhouse that I had to be done in two hours because they had a tournament scheduled. Then another guy that worked there took the time to ride out to ten tee box to remind me again that I had to be done by noon. I got behind a fivesome of locals on the third hole and they didn't bother to let me play through until the 9th hole. They need to just keep doing their thing there and not post any times on golfnow because they don't really want new people to come and check out their course.
Great course at value prices.
This course is well worth the $19 you can pay and if you wait its a great play at $12. The fairways are nothing real special but they play fine, the greens are well maintained. It plays a little shorter than you think which adds to some scoring opportunities, but it does have some pretty challenging holes (2, 4, 7, 16, 17, 18).
I will be making it a regular play for a while because I think its a good game improvement course.
Course was in great condition.
Love this course and is always challenging and always in wonderful shape.
front nine = +6 , back nine = -1 (best ball) great fun !!!
Need to drive straight & putt well, greens are a challenge !!!
Nice Course
Oak Hills is a nice course at a great value. Hole #2 is very challenging.
Greens very difficult due to modulation of the green
Challenging but fun. Long time since we played there. Good times.
Great bang for the buck.
Course is very challenging and unique. Fairways need attention, but a good value for the price.
Very enjoyable round
The staff was friendly, course was in good shape, food was great, members on the course were helpful.
