Hibiscus Golf Club
About
Hibiscus Golf Club is one of the few 18-hole courses in Naples that are open to the public. The course is player enough for beginners and while it may not be what you're looking for if you're in search of a formidable test, it's good for some casual practice for the more advanced player. The layout balances player-friendly, wide fairways with greens that are guarded by strategically placed bunkers. There is a series of lakes and streams throughout the golf course that come into play on nearly every hole. The golf course has seen several improvements since it first opened in 1969, especially after it was badly damaged from a hurricane. More than 200 trees were added as well as 1,200 grasses and shrubs. Hibiscus Golf Club also has a driving range and putting green.

Hibiscus
first of all I heard this course shut down a few months ago to do maintenance. Not sure where they did this. the course in my opinion was deplorable. The greens looked diseased and patchy and were not cut. The tee boxes were rough. I would not pay $20 to play this course in my city. I was very disappointed. In fact we left at the 14th hole because the pace of play was slow. There were two hole open in front of the group ahead of us. I will cross this course off my list
Overpriced
Greens were in terrible shape and the course was rough. Waaaay too much for the condition of the course.
Disappointed after shut down
I have golfed this course many times and was not at all impressed with the conditions after 6 months of closure. The fairways are full of weeds and the greens are rough. With the inflated prices definately not good value.
Cancelled tee time and still got charged
Did not play the course and I cancelled tee time with golf now and still got charged full amount
I cancelled in plenty of time . Paid $6:00 in advance and to pay the rest at the course...
I need golf now to refund my money cause they never told Hibiscus golf course ...Please
respond to me Please
Greens on the front arei in bad shape !!!!
Greens are in the poorest condition I've seen after a course remold shaking my head!!!!!
course remodel success
I have not played here in 2 years due to very poor course conditions. Course was closed last year and they accomplished vastly improved conditions; beautiful grass covering fairways, few cosmetic improvements. I enjoyed finding fuzzy chippable grass surrounding the greens
Still needs work
All though the course was renovated this past off season several greens were in poor shape and the ruff off the fairway is in fairly poor condition. I had been anxious to play for the first time this season and was a little disappointed. But the fairways are improved over the past two years and some greens were fine.
Improving
Appreciate Hibiscus efforts to address course deficiencies ie…. grass in fairways that is actually green due to new irrigation system, back nine greens that are now decent , and bunkers, even though sand is too deep and inconsistent. Front nine greens still patchy and marginally good but far from anything that would resemble quality . Course layout and design is actually pretty good with much potential. Happy hour, restaurant and bar is very good! Suggest that money they are saving by NOT providing a cup for water and ice be dumped back into improving the front nine greens ( come on… really?). Staff friendly and accommodating! Overall….. improved over last year but still needs work.. Oh by the way,,, playing it again Wednesday!
Decent public course for florida
With limited public courses in swf its one of the better ones. But to be clear you have to have a comparable to understand what one of the better really means. If Medinah is a 10, this course ranks around a 3. It is public and its in swf. It's pace is very slow if you play country club golf nor.mally.
Price
Course transformation after all of the improvements this past summer were impressive. New carts with GPS are nice. Range needs more targets and a small bucket of balls should be complimentary considering the cost to play 18 holes during prime time.
Disappointed in conditions
I’ve played Hibiscus several times, but this time I was disappointed. The tee boxes and fairways were in decent shape, but the greens have several bare spots.
Golfing in the Naples area has really gotten expensive in recent years. I got a “good” deal on this round ($90.00 for a GolfNow hot deal)., but it was barely worth it. At least I didn’t pay the $154.00 regular rate.
We were paired with two nice older ladies who struggled to keep pace, but we were only 15 minutes or so behind at the turn. Two groups ahead of us were waiting on the 10th tee, which delayed us another 15 minutes. At the 15th hole, the ranger told me we were 29 minutes behind and asked me (not us) to do what we could to go faster. (This 29 minutes included the 15 minutes we waited on the 10th tee). When we finished 16, the group behind us wasn’t yet on the tee. We didn’t appreciate being blamed for not keeping pace.
