Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

The course was in terrible shape. The back 9 looked a lot better than the front. There seems to be some sort of drainage issue on the front nine. The greens were in rough shape. When I went to go inside to the pro shop I could smell mold inside. The person that was working in the pro shop seemed like he has an issue with everyone that walks in. He was very rude to a lady on the phone when I was paying. But you can’t beat the price but the staff needs some help dealing with customers correctly. Also all of the bunkers looked horrible they were in terrible shape. But what can I say for the price it was worth it but there is definitely room for improvement.

Good pace of play. Greens in excellent condition. Fairways OK. Sand traps horrible with little to no sand… took drops out of them. Tee boxes ok. Some broken ball cleaners and benches at Tee Boxes. Could be good course with some TLC, but not bad for the price in the high season.

Great shape . Slowed down behind 2 foursomes Good price. Lot of space in clubhouse not being used . Sad

We've played Ocala National several times this winter. Greens are great. Fairways good. Tee boxes mixed. Bunkers, as has been the case for the last while, atrocious. I don't know if the management reads this, but PLEASE FIX THE BUNKERS (and a some of the tee boxes). I'd gladly pay more to support renovation. It's a great course that deserves to be returned to its former glory because the layout is fantastic. Opening the bar and beefing up the pro shop would also be nice. The staff here is always awesome. For the prices, I'd say it can't be beat in the Ocala area.

One can see when playing the course the beauty of its layout. However, it appears that the course has not been well maintained in a number of years. Although the greens remain in good shape, the tee grounds are rough, the fairways are more like scrub grass than turf, and no sand in the bunkers. The bunkers themselves do not look like they have been edged in years. It is a shame that the course has degenerated to its current state as the layout which cannot be changes has the potential of returning to its original luster when it first opened.

This course appears to be a bit or a work in progress. The greens were pretty nice, rolled well, but for lots of evidence of inconsiderate hackers (or good golfers) too lazy to fix their pitchmarks. The fairways were a little sparse, but typical of Central FL in February. Bring extra balls is you're not a straight driver, there are plenty of trees. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. FYI, get drinking water near the cart return before heading out on 1 and 10, there isn't any drinking water on the course.

Love to play here! Great value and course layout is awesome. We don't play it of the bunkers as they are the only thing on the course subpar.

Nice day to be out on the course. Enjoyed the round the pace was okay a large group in front but moved along okay. The downside to the course the bunkers are really bad. Almost no sand, hardpan like hitting off the parking lot. Banks of bunders are weeds and rocks, needs major work.

An interesting and challenging course! Greens and fairways in great shape, tee boxes could use a little attention, but they are usable! Some interesting blind tee shots. Fun course to play - recommended if you are in the area!

The foursomes in front of us were bad didn't care about pace of play 5 hours later. The fairways are green and the greens are nice. The tee boxes on different holes nee some help. Jason does w well job.
