Bloomingdale Golfers Club
About
Bloomingdale Golfers Club sits on 220 acres of natural terrain with 100-year-old oaks, natural marsh preserves teeming with wildlife, fields of flowers, and thirteen lakes. Here you'll find a true Golfers Club -- no pools, no tennis courts, just Florida Golf at its finest. Tree lined fairways, pampas grass, massive waste areas, deep grass bunkers and contoured greens tempt golfers to play a round. Golf Digest described Bloomingdale Golfers Club as having the best collection of par 5's on one golf course as they have seen. Bloomingdale, which has been ranked #9 in Florida by Golfweek Magazine, is dedicated to preserving the natural appeal of the land. Course residents include a bald eagle, several sandhill cranes, sixty species of semi-rare birds, and the ever-present raccoon...the course trademark.

Pace of play
Have played many times, but the pace of play was extremely slow. Way over booked. Had two sets of time waiting at each hole. They started us on the back nine at 1:15. When we got the the 13th hole. A league came up and told us we shouldn't be there and we should just go to hole 16 so they could play. That did not sit well with the 12 players that were waiting to tee off. We paid our money and we were playing. Once we got to the front nine. It did move a little faster. It was 6:15 when we finished. Almost dark.
Playing on “league” day is a disaster
Second time trying to play on a day when the mens league is playing. Tee times are wide open, and yet as we approached our 4th hole we are greeted by a group of 6 informing us that their league is scheduled to begin on our hole at that time. That, on top of the fact that we were already on a slight backup, as the third group waiting to tee off. Here’s and idea…don’t book tee times if you have a league running on the course simultaneously! I’m addition, the pace of play is at a snails pace, and the league members are rude and could care less. Over 5 hours for 18 holes. Also, why close the bar/restaurant at 6pm? We frequently play on the afternoon, and it continues to be disappointing that we can’t even stop on for a cold drink after our round! Love the course, but our recent experience has been less that optimal.
Lots of waiting
Took me 5 hours to play 18 holes. Was waiting at the tee box for group ahead to tee off on nearly every hole. It was really too dark to play the last hole, but attempted it anyway and lost 2 otherwise very findable balls. Should not have to worry about beating the daylight when you tee off at 1:30.
Better than expected
New to Tampa. Playing new courses nearly every day. Had previously read reviews on local courses open to the public. Most are very critical. So far I've experienced courses that have had some issues (mostly the condition of fairways), but I usually judge by greens, bunkers, ruff & tee boxes. Fairways I judge by, if I bump my ball slightly, do I have grass surface to hit off. So far, for the money. Everything has been ok. Greens have been very good. Ruff has been rough. Tee boxes have been hit & miss, but no serious issues. Fairways @ Wentworth & Northdale pretty bad, but playable. I paid $27 & $33 respectively, so it was ok. Wentworth has a great course, they just need to figure out how to grow grass. So about Bloomingdale. Greens were slow. But in great condition. Bunkers good (plenty of sand). Compared to the other courses I've played; the fairways were outstanding. Tee boxes good. Outstanding layout. Biggest problem was pace of play (terrible). But I was paired up with Some great guys (Josh & Steve) & on last hole Tom). I played terrible, but truely had a great experience. Will be back. Advice to reviewers. You're not going to play $100 courses for $25 in February. Be fair in your assessments. If you pay $25. You get a $25 course. I've found that most of the reviews of the courses I've played; way off wrong. I don't write a lot of them, but I do read them.
Packed
Every time I play hear the pace is horrible. The send people out every 5 minutes. By hole 3 there was three groups waiting to tee off. Never fails
Disappointed when forced to leave afterb3 holes due to a league
Golf course was running approximately 30 minutes behind schedule. After 3 holes a league scheduled to start 1 hour 10 min after our tee time, drove up to holes 1 thru 5 and rudely informed us we were done playing because must start on time. They ordered us to go back to pro shop and deal with them. The league should have had to also deal it the 30 minute delay vs kicking us off. However, when we left to discuss with the pro shop, they were very apologetic for the leagues misunderstanding and rudeness, indicating the league was to allow us past hole 5 before starting. They did provide a 100% refund. However I was very disappointed that we were unable to play. Had been looking forward to it all week.
Poor management
We start 20 minutes late and on top of that when we got to hole #4 8 foursome got in front of us because they are a league that play every Thursdays. The told us if e=we are not happy go to see the management. When to see the manager and ask to refund which he did.
Great Course with lousy customer service and organizational skills
If you want a round where they simply send you to a tee and you have to find out what the starting times are of those there -this is the place. NO Starter will help you cause there is none.
If you want to be the 4th group on the 3rd tee, this is your place.
If you want a 3 hour and 15 min front nine - head here.
If you mention that there is no ranger that makes groups play together as foursomes - head here.
If you want a place that does not know how to manage pace of play........
A fun round
Tees on many holes in rough shape but still playable and the greens were a little long so somewhat inconsistent but it was a fun round of golf and I'd play here again
Worst Day In Sometime
Club managemt is extremely poor. Counter attendant and on site manager need to work on their people skills. We started on the back nine and when we made the turn to number one there was one group on the green, one group in the fairway and one group in the tee box. There was single behind the group in the tee box, a twosome behind the single and single behind our group. In their infinite wisdom the pro shop started sending people off the front nine after sending everyone who got there mid afternoon on the back nine. Needless to say this was total nightmare. There was no ranger or course marshall on duty so this even made matter worse, This happens time after time at Bloomingdale when are they going to realize that this not the way to run to golf course. It is the closest golf course to my house but the worse managed golf course I play at from time to time....FIX IT BLOOMINGDALE
