Bloomingdale Golfers Club
About
Bloomingdale Golfers Club sits on 220 acres of natural terrain with 100-year-old oaks, natural marsh preserves teeming with wildlife, fields of flowers, and thirteen lakes. Here you'll find a true Golfers Club -- no pools, no tennis courts, just Florida Golf at its finest. Tree lined fairways, pampas grass, massive waste areas, deep grass bunkers and contoured greens tempt golfers to play a round. Golf Digest described Bloomingdale Golfers Club as having the best collection of par 5's on one golf course as they have seen. Bloomingdale, which has been ranked #9 in Florida by Golfweek Magazine, is dedicated to preserving the natural appeal of the land. Course residents include a bald eagle, several sandhill cranes, sixty species of semi-rare birds, and the ever-present raccoon...the course trademark.

Prepare for the 4-1/2 - 5 hour round
Have played here multiple times as I live very close to the course. Each time we've played the Pace of play has been atrocious! Played 11/29 and the round took 5 hours and 5 minutes, tee time was 10:15 and didn't go off until 10:50! Heard from another group that two groups showed up with no tee time and they "squeezed" them in. I have never seen marshals on the course to help speed up the pace of play. It's unfortunate as this is a very good course.
delightful round
Very nice place to play golf. Course is memorable. very hole is different. No cookie cutter holes
A real challenge or very user friendly.....choose your Tee Box.
A mature course that is in great condition. The 'Raccoon Tees' offer a severe test for long hitters. For the rest of us, there are 5 other tee box choices to suit your abilities. The staff are very accommodating and can help with anything from Pro shop merchandise, to playing lessons, food/beverage service and much more. Practice facilities are very good and well maintained. Memberships are varied and fairly priced. Course conditions are better than most area courses and consistent with pricing. Overall a very comfortable experience.
Hit seeds, make birdies
You’ll want to play this gnarly track from the tips if you’ve got them big enough. There are some old tee boxes that are DEEP and not used anymore (find them!) It hosted the US Open final stage way back in the day so pack a lunch! Lee Janzen holds the course record. Can you beat him? Ya right! If you want a challenge and can hit it long and straight then have at it. I’d like to see the greens a little more Augustaesque. Mahalo!
Great course but
It’s a great course but the marshalls really need to keep slow groups moving
Chillin
1st time played. It was a chilly day but we dressed for it. Several pars to be had but the par fives ate our lunch today. Course was in good shape for the most part. Golfer's.... course maintenance starts with you.
great practice facilities at a very challenging course.
not suitable for beginners
A Ball Strikers Course
To play a respectable round your ball striking will be tested. . A nice mixture of lengths for the par 4's and some 'forced carry' par 3's and 5's. Conditions are being improved with emphasis on new sod for many tee areas and the greens are ready for 'the season'. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. Well worth a visit ..... you'll look forward to returning regularly.
Thumbs down
I live about 13 miles away from the course. I play it about once every 2 years and the conditions continue to go downhill will not be back.
wet
Although the course was soaked from all the rain I still had fun playing. Having played the course many times over the past few years I can say it is challenging and a great value.
Great Course!
Course was a bit soggie and the Greens looked like they were just aerated, so putting was rough. But overall a nice course! Will definitely come back and inquire about membership, due to closeness.
Very nice course, will be back
The course is in great condition. Looks like they just aerated the greens. So they are a little sandy and slow. But definitely worth it.
Slow pace of play with a generally friendly staff
I played this course the morning after a heavy thunderstorm, so I am going to forego mentioning anything negative about the wet conditions of the grass. Upon entering the clubhouse, the girl behind the counter seemed friendly but extremely flustered by the constantly ringing phone and people walking in. She was the only person on staff inside. The marshal greeted me immediately upon my exit from the clubhouse, and he was beyond helpful and friendly, and also kept joking around in a friendly manner with my significant other who was just riding along to make sure we were having a good time. The big issue I did have though was that the pace of play was really bad. I ended up leaving after 9 holes. Multiple times we ended up waiting on the tee box behind a group that was still waiting to start teeing off, and multiple times we were that group waiting to tee off while another group came up behind us.
If I have a day off that isn't Saturday, I might give this course another try. I don't know that I will try to play here again on a Saturday morning though.
The beverage cart attendant was friendly, and came by one time, which is a plus in the summer in central FL. It is common in the summer for me to get no beverage service, as I book with private courses that have their whole membership living elsewhere during the hot months.
Overall, I give this course a 3/5. Their annual membership rates seemed very reasonable for what you get, and if I was a little bit closer, I might think about buying that deal.
Slow slow slow
Pace of play is ALWAYS unbearably slow. This was my fourth time playing here. It’ll be my last simply because everyone here play like tortoises. Unreal and no fun. Course is not bad at all. Pace of play SUCKS
Great Day
Course was in very good condition. Greens were a bit hard and bouncy so it was tough to hold them, even with high shots. On the other hand, short shots rolled up onto the greens for a good result. Pace of play was a bit slow due to a large youth tournament, but it was no big deal. Looking forward to returning soon.
over rated
The reviews make this sound like it was the toughest course in the country. It's far from that. Its a moderate course. Its in all right shape. Greens were good and fairway were alright, nothing to brag about. Probably won't be back because of the length of the drive to get there. If you want to play a tough course play Misty Creek in Sarasota.
Starter
The course for being basically municipal was in good shape. Only problem is the staff sending people out whenever they show up. Golfnow always shows this place to be wide open. You show up for your time and there's always 2-3 groups log jammed on the 1st tee. And they're anywhere from single to 4some. How hard is it for them group people for set times rather than a free for all?
Great Track
Long standing great layout. Course gets tighter the farther back you tee it up. Fairways are in good shape; greens were a little fuzzy as we played late in the day. My only issue was with the proshop sending out so many singles back-to-back. We were a double with a single in front being held up by double, and we had 3 singles behind us. Overall, great value.
