Bloomingdale Golfers Club
About
Bloomingdale Golfers Club sits on 220 acres of natural terrain with 100-year-old oaks, natural marsh preserves teeming with wildlife, fields of flowers, and thirteen lakes. Here you'll find a true Golfers Club -- no pools, no tennis courts, just Florida Golf at its finest. Tree lined fairways, pampas grass, massive waste areas, deep grass bunkers and contoured greens tempt golfers to play a round. Golf Digest described Bloomingdale Golfers Club as having the best collection of par 5's on one golf course as they have seen. Bloomingdale, which has been ranked #9 in Florida by Golfweek Magazine, is dedicated to preserving the natural appeal of the land. Course residents include a bald eagle, several sandhill cranes, sixty species of semi-rare birds, and the ever-present raccoon...the course trademark.

Great Course Slow Play
We teed off at 11:22 am and finished at 5 pm. Two couples were a bottleneck and slowed the course. We called the clubhouse but the Marshall never came. Course conditions were great and the greens were in good shape. The course is challenging and holes 9, 16 and 18 are difficult and fun. On the turn we called and ordered slices of pizza. The restaurant had the pizza ready to go and it was awesome! The pizza is one of the best in the area. We had plenty of time to eat the pizza waiting the slow foursome to finish. We have played here several time and there has never been this slow of a pace. The cart girl came by several times and she was very cute.
Not rain proof
2nd time playing this course this year. It is a decent design, fair price, but the course doesn’t take water well so play it dry for best results. The greens are form and roll pretty well but Mgt needs to address the Poyanna before it really gets out of hand on the greens.
A good time for all of us
Course was drier than expected . We shall return this season
Course conditions poor
Played the day after Christmas. We had a 1PM tee time. There were no carts available. By the time we got a cart it was 10 minutes past our tee time. We waited an average of 8 minutes per hole. This would had been tolerable if the course was in good shape. Smelly standing water and deep tire tracks everywhere. Many dead areas. Bunkers were inconsistent at best. Greens were OK but slow. Took us 5.25 hours to finish the round. The layout is very challenging and the course has potential. Personally I would increase the price,, this will allow them to do more maintenance and maybe they can save the course. A very friendly staff makes up for some of it but please plant some grass and do some maintenance.
Bloomingdale has seen better days
Arrived to see a clubhouse that needed a coat of paint or two at least ten years ago and a building adjacent to the clubhouse that should be torn down. .The pro shop attendant was moderately courteous but Lou the starter was as friendly, welcoming and as nice as can be. The practice facilities are very good with an excellent large putting green that rolled very true at a 9 on the stimpmeter. The driving range was large and in good shape as were the chipping greens. Once we got ont he course the experience quickly diminushed. The tee boxes were spotty, the fairways were thin,, muddy and had a variety of weeds which was the same for the "rough".which could be hardpan. The collars and aprons around the greens were very thin and inconsistant. The greens were ok but not nearly as good as the putting green which was outstanding. On the cover of the scorecard is a picture of their signature par 5 which shows pristine white sand in a well manicured bunker. The bunkers we encountered were half filled with a mixture of dirt and sand that was not well maintained or consistant.. The layout is good to very good but it is clear that money is not being put back in to the course. This could be a very good golf course if it was properly maintained but it is not even close to being one of the best in Tampa Bay as some of their promotional materials claim
Slow but steady
The course was extremely crowded and pace of play was very slow. We almost stopped play several times. However, things opened up on back 9. The course layout is very challenging. Holes 9, 16 and 18 can be difficult especially with the winds howling. The greens except for a couple of areas were in great shape and rolled fine. We stopped afterward and had a slice of pizza at course restaurant and it was very good. We will definitely come back even with slowish play.
Beautiful, Manicured Course!
This is one of my favorite places to place. The prices are always fair and the course is taken care of. I will be looking into getting a membership, soon!
Saturday Morning
This course is not easy. Holes 9, 16 and 18 are tough and fun. We had a slow foursome in front of us for several holes. Once we lost them at the turn pace went to warp speed. Greens were vary consistent but some fairways were sketchy. The cart girl came by us at least three times and when the round was done we hit the bar attached to the course. We ordered a pizza and it was fabulous. We will play here again. Great practice and warmup facilities.
Used every club in the bag
From the tips, THis is not a driver and a wedge course. Had to hit 3 iron through sand wedge on approach shots and par threes. Was an overall challenging round and NOT BORING!
Prepare for the 4-1/2 - 5 hour round
Have played here multiple times as I live very close to the course. Each time we've played the Pace of play has been atrocious! Played 11/29 and the round took 5 hours and 5 minutes, tee time was 10:15 and didn't go off until 10:50! Heard from another group that two groups showed up with no tee time and they "squeezed" them in. I have never seen marshals on the course to help speed up the pace of play. It's unfortunate as this is a very good course.
delightful round
Very nice place to play golf. Course is memorable. very hole is different. No cookie cutter holes
A real challenge or very user friendly.....choose your Tee Box.
A mature course that is in great condition. The 'Raccoon Tees' offer a severe test for long hitters. For the rest of us, there are 5 other tee box choices to suit your abilities. The staff are very accommodating and can help with anything from Pro shop merchandise, to playing lessons, food/beverage service and much more. Practice facilities are very good and well maintained. Memberships are varied and fairly priced. Course conditions are better than most area courses and consistent with pricing. Overall a very comfortable experience.
Hit seeds, make birdies
You’ll want to play this gnarly track from the tips if you’ve got them big enough. There are some old tee boxes that are DEEP and not used anymore (find them!) It hosted the US Open final stage way back in the day so pack a lunch! Lee Janzen holds the course record. Can you beat him? Ya right! If you want a challenge and can hit it long and straight then have at it. I’d like to see the greens a little more Augustaesque. Mahalo!
Great course but
It’s a great course but the marshalls really need to keep slow groups moving
Chillin
1st time played. It was a chilly day but we dressed for it. Several pars to be had but the par fives ate our lunch today. Course was in good shape for the most part. Golfer's.... course maintenance starts with you.
