Bloomingdale Golfers Club
About
Bloomingdale Golfers Club sits on 220 acres of natural terrain with 100-year-old oaks, natural marsh preserves teeming with wildlife, fields of flowers, and thirteen lakes. Here you'll find a true Golfers Club -- no pools, no tennis courts, just Florida Golf at its finest. Tree lined fairways, pampas grass, massive waste areas, deep grass bunkers and contoured greens tempt golfers to play a round. Golf Digest described Bloomingdale Golfers Club as having the best collection of par 5's on one golf course as they have seen. Bloomingdale, which has been ranked #9 in Florida by Golfweek Magazine, is dedicated to preserving the natural appeal of the land. Course residents include a bald eagle, several sandhill cranes, sixty species of semi-rare birds, and the ever-present raccoon...the course trademark.

Had not played the course recently
Kudos to grounds crew. Much improved areas around the greens and hazards.Course requires accuracy, ,the improvements sped up play and helped improve enjoyment of the course.
Ranger
I did not like the ranger come and tell us to hurry up to play because the club members are behind us and we are holding them up and We paid $60 to play there.
Fun course
On my first time playing Bloomingdale this winter, I found the course conditions to be improved over prior years. Though it doesn't have the lush fairways of the high-dollar courses, the fairways are a step above the hardpan I've seen on other courses in BGC's price range. The greens are firm but roll true. The layout is fun and definitely challenging, which accounts for the slow play I've invariably encountered at Bloomingdale. If you're new to golf, you may want to take notice of not just BGC's length (almost 5400 yards from the forward tees) but also the course slope and rating (72.6/130 from the forward tees ). Unless you're prepared to pick up to keep pace, Bloomingdale is NOT the place to learn - other than their practice facilities. It's just too tough for beginners & not only spoils the pace of play but has to be frustrating for the beginner or high handicapper - as it is for those watching & WAITING from behind you. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The pro shop is nice as well.
Worth playing
This course has some great holes and you need to play some position shots. But overall it is a course that most players can play and have fun!
Great Course Layout -Fast Greens
The course was packed and running 20-25 minutes behind scheduled Tee Times due to a large group outing. We paid, looked around the Pro Shop, grabbed a bucket of balls and headed to the range. The course has a good size range, a short game range, and huge practice Green. We Tee’d off 25-30 minutes later than our scheduled Tee Time and waited On a number of holes, but overall the pace of play wasn’t bad...about 5hr round. The Greens were fast and in great shape. The area had a storm move through the previous night dropping a ton of rain, but it was still 90 degrees with a few wet spots, but overall pretty good. The Ranger came by 2-3 times and kept play moving. The course layout was challenging with plenty of water and sand. Overall, great layout.
I would recommend and we will be back.
poor quality
This is NO 4 star course. Two at best. I was terribly disappointed we travel a good distance only to be disappointed. We will not return.
Pleasantly surprised
On initial entry into the course (from the parking lot) you kinda expect a mediocre course. I was pleasantly surprised with most of the layout I f the course and especially the conditions of the greens. A bit choppy of the fairways but overall acceptable. Staff was
Very friendly and alot of good deals in the club house. Cart girl was very friendly and efficient. Practice area is
Pretty decent as well. I would recommend
Great greens
Overall good course but when you got off the fairways, it was really scruffy. The greens were near perfect.
Great Course Slow Play
We teed off at 11:22 am and finished at 5 pm. Two couples were a bottleneck and slowed the course. We called the clubhouse but the Marshall never came. Course conditions were great and the greens were in good shape. The course is challenging and holes 9, 16 and 18 are difficult and fun. On the turn we called and ordered slices of pizza. The restaurant had the pizza ready to go and it was awesome! The pizza is one of the best in the area. We had plenty of time to eat the pizza waiting the slow foursome to finish. We have played here several time and there has never been this slow of a pace. The cart girl came by several times and she was very cute.
Not rain proof
2nd time playing this course this year. It is a decent design, fair price, but the course doesn’t take water well so play it dry for best results. The greens are form and roll pretty well but Mgt needs to address the Poyanna before it really gets out of hand on the greens.
A good time for all of us
Course was drier than expected . We shall return this season
Course conditions poor
Played the day after Christmas. We had a 1PM tee time. There were no carts available. By the time we got a cart it was 10 minutes past our tee time. We waited an average of 8 minutes per hole. This would had been tolerable if the course was in good shape. Smelly standing water and deep tire tracks everywhere. Many dead areas. Bunkers were inconsistent at best. Greens were OK but slow. Took us 5.25 hours to finish the round. The layout is very challenging and the course has potential. Personally I would increase the price,, this will allow them to do more maintenance and maybe they can save the course. A very friendly staff makes up for some of it but please plant some grass and do some maintenance.
Bloomingdale has seen better days
Arrived to see a clubhouse that needed a coat of paint or two at least ten years ago and a building adjacent to the clubhouse that should be torn down. .The pro shop attendant was moderately courteous but Lou the starter was as friendly, welcoming and as nice as can be. The practice facilities are very good with an excellent large putting green that rolled very true at a 9 on the stimpmeter. The driving range was large and in good shape as were the chipping greens. Once we got ont he course the experience quickly diminushed. The tee boxes were spotty, the fairways were thin,, muddy and had a variety of weeds which was the same for the "rough".which could be hardpan. The collars and aprons around the greens were very thin and inconsistant. The greens were ok but not nearly as good as the putting green which was outstanding. On the cover of the scorecard is a picture of their signature par 5 which shows pristine white sand in a well manicured bunker. The bunkers we encountered were half filled with a mixture of dirt and sand that was not well maintained or consistant.. The layout is good to very good but it is clear that money is not being put back in to the course. This could be a very good golf course if it was properly maintained but it is not even close to being one of the best in Tampa Bay as some of their promotional materials claim
Slow but steady
The course was extremely crowded and pace of play was very slow. We almost stopped play several times. However, things opened up on back 9. The course layout is very challenging. Holes 9, 16 and 18 can be difficult especially with the winds howling. The greens except for a couple of areas were in great shape and rolled fine. We stopped afterward and had a slice of pizza at course restaurant and it was very good. We will definitely come back even with slowish play.
