The 18-hole Gulf Shores Golf Club (formerly known as Golf Club of The Wharf) in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a public golf course that opened in 1963. Disappointed
Early April and hard as a rock. Greens were bumpy and poorly maintained. This track has definitely seen better days.
Nice course
Love the course even though conditions were not perfect. Greens still rolled fast but have poana. Great variety of holes and sneaky difficult. Note to golf now golfers - you have to tee off at your specific tee time even if no one is on the tee.
Great course in poor condition
I have played here for years and love the course but the greens have gone downhill the last 2 years with poa annua which affects every putt. Won't be back until they resolve it.
Sexual biased
Staff insisted on a collared shirt or leave even thought we both were wearing $50 quality shirts with sleeves yet at the same time they allowed women with sleeveless tees (no collars) to play
Sexist I called it
Pace of Play
Enjoyed the course, but had a foursome in front of us that were probably handicaps of over 20 that stymied the whole back nine. A Marshall should have made them pickup play or let others play through.
The Course
Overall, course is very good place to play. This time of year the course is not in full bloom, so can’t give its 5 star. Price is reasonable. Favorite course to play in Gulf Shores.
Play Elsewhere
Way overpriced for the quality. Should be half the cost for what you get. Good forgiving layout but needs a lot of maintenance. Peninsula or Kiva Dunes would be much better options at this price point.
Traditional layout
Course was average for the money. Greens were receptive but in fair condition. Fairways and tees weren’t the greatest, again just average. Other than the four par threes it was driver off the tee…not much thinking needed at this course. The holes are “what you see is what you get”. The overall length of the course is good, that will challenge you if nothing else.
Greens where not up to par, advances.
but should improve as the season Also they were spiked a few weeks ago.liked the ciurse layout as it was challenging but fun.
