Wet wet wet
The course is always wet. I find I can not get any distance because of a lack of roll. Quit watering the course so much.
Perfectly inviting
Beautiful course. Few trees but lots of bunkers. Wife and I are both high handicaps but we found the course inviting and friendly. I lost 2 balls...both in water.
Practice range was fine except for the mats. Bartender was friendly and made great drinks! Lady in the pro shop was nice.
We will be back soon with friends!
Improving Conditions
I have played this course many times over the years during my visits to Orange Beach. The layout is good and the first few holes are tough with a lot of water, tighter fairways and well protected greens. The sand traps need some work as there is very little sand in them. They look OK, but in reality, some of the greenside bunders are 1" of sand over packed clay, the recipe for a bladed shot. I'll come back, but avoid bunkers at all costs.
Well maintained and challenging course
So fun to play this course. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We will be back.
Great Greens
Got the first tee time so we got the round in for a total of 2 hours and 40 minutes.
A few of the tee boxes need help like number 3 tee. Around the green is mostly hard pan so if you miss your approach your toast. Fairways are cut tight and you can tell the growing season has slowed con considerably.
Greens are the best I’ve ever seen here and I play 3 to 4 times a year. Roll true, and not to fast or to slow. For $66 it’s a value, but it is not a $100 course.
I live a mile from this course and play it only a few times has it is not up to the standards of Kiva, Peninsula or Craft Farms.
I’m hoping the new owners will give us locals some Incentive to come play. I’ve always thought this was the poorest managed golf course in the area. And that’s a shame because it is a great layout .
Always good!
Fairways drying up since no rain and low humidity for quite a while. Greens true and fast. Rough is Bermuda, but cut short enough so that you don't lose your ball!
Great course that just needs water and fertilizer
I really enjoyed playing here as a single just trying to sneak a quick round in.
Very Good Shape! Nice course!
Played this course multiple times this year and it is probably in the best shape so far. Greens are perfect and true. Very nice fairways and tee-boxes. Rough plays fair and course plays moderate difficulty overall. It is a bit pricey but it does come with unlimited range balls and first class putting and chipping areas. It's a bit too expensive to play all the time but 3 or 4 times a year seems doable. I wish I would of took a picture. It is a really pretty course with fox squirrels running around everywhere.
Gulf Shores
Nice track, greens we're nice and quick, keep your ball below the flag. Fairways we're in good shape some tee boxes need work. Would play again!
Fun playable course!
We had played Gulf Shores Golf Club more than five years ago and remembered it fondly, so we made sure to play it on this trip. Friends who had not played it previously joined us and we had a fun day. We went off right at our 8:10 tee time and finished at about 11:50 AM. The course was in great shape (other than inconsiderate golfers ahead not raking the traps) and the staff was friendly. They had rangers out on the course making sure folks were moving along. If we had more time we'd definitely play GSGC again!
Amazing Course
I just got back from vacation to gulf shores and I spent 4 of my 7 days on this course. The layout is great, the staff is friendly, and it was overall a great course that I look forward to coming back to next year!
