Course review
This was first time playing this course and can’t really knock the course conditions due to the fact of all the rain during and after the hurricane. The crews were busy the day of play mowing but with that said the grass clippings were piled in the rough and fairways. I honestly feel that on a normal schedule this would be a really good course to play. I plan on playing again on my next trip to the area
Course Confitions
Played in mid September and the overall condition was excellent!! However, the bunkers were unkept due to recent heavy rains due to Hurricane Francine. Course was still slightly soggy with #18 being CPO. Played in less than 3 hours; so, great pace of play.
Good Course just not worth 87.00
Descent course….tee box’s were pretty bad, greens were great. Course has some real potential but it just looks unkept. Range was terrible and worst part was they charged me 25.00 for my wife just to ride in the cart which blew my mind so almost 120.00 for a 50.00 course at best. If you’re going to spend that kind of money just go to Kiva Dunes. Staff was great…the course just isn’t worth what they charge
Greens were great!
Greens are very nice. Staff was very friendly. Not too crowded, got a great discount on Golf Now.
This is not a 90.00 course
I’d like to start this review with how friendly the staff was…but unfortunately it went downhill drastically. I booked GolfNow for 87.00 the reviews seemed good enough. My wife joined me just to ride in the cart and enjoy a few drinks, they charged a 25.00 “spectator fee” which blew my mind so now we’re up to 112.00. The range is terrible….tee box’s were terrible…green were in very good shape. Fairways was decent. I say all this to say it’s a 40.00 course at best…if you’re going to drop that kind of coin go to Kiva it’s a way better value and the wife can ride along for free
Great course, very good shape!
The course is in great shape. Best value for the money in Baldwin County, especially down by the beach. It is becoming one of my favorite places to play. I'll take some pictures next time.
Good value
Course was In very good shape. Kudos to the superintendent and his crew greens had been aerified recently but rolled really well. A great value.
Good course and layout, driving range needs work.
I played during the first week of September and it was hot and humid (which is just part of the weather in that area). The staff was extremely friendly and really my only complaint about the course was the driving range. It was all mats that were almost completely worn out that sat on top of wooden slats. The first hit I had sent a shock down my hands. If they would replace the mats that would go a long way in making it a better experience.
However the course itself was a very good layout, some of the Par 4's were longer especially if you did not hit a good tee shot, but the fairways were very wide and generous. There were a few trees that had to be contended with off the tee, but once you got around them there was plenty of fairway to be had.
The greens had been punched about a month before and it had rained a lot the day before so I think between the two the greens were a touch bumpy in places, but overall rolled good. Speaking of the rain, the course drains exceptionally well. Only 2 maybe 3 fairways you could tell were wet even with all the rain from the day before. I would definitely visit again when I am in the area.
A pleasant golfing experience
We were pleasantly surprised at the course conditions, staff friendliness and amenities.
Good course, good value, greens struggling a bit.
I like the course. Played there a couple times lately. It plays short from the white tees so for higher handicap golfers it plays pretty friendly. The greens are struggling and have been all year. They had just aerated them and sanded them so they were bumpy and bear in many spots. Once the greens get back in shape I would add another star to the review but probably be next spring before they have recovered. I like the layout a lot and will go back again this fall.
Good course for the money
Everything was great! Staff, pace of play, greens and layout.
Great course, very good shape!
Tees, fairways and greens in great shape. The course plays tough but fair from the white tees. There are many fairway bunkers strategically placed as well as multiple around every green. I will work on my sand game before returning! Also water hazards on about half the holes. Its pretty open from the tee boxes and the rough is not too rough to play out of. I will definitely be back.
What a great time
Just visited the Alabama Gulf Coast and my wife and I decided to play a casual round of golf. We found this place on GolfNow and booked a tee time.
The staff was awesome and the course was in good shape. Great value for the money.
Nice course
The course was nice, and most holes fairly straight. It was hot but we had fun. It would have been better with a beverage cart on the course.
Played Twice 2 Days Apart
It was hot. If I was playing one of the 2 higher priced ($140) local courses I would not have enjoyed myself as much as I did. On the first day they were punching the back 9 so we played the front 9 times. The greens were outstanding. Fast and true. Played 2 days later all 18 holes were punched so we called everything a 2 putt. It is what it is. But the first day really gave us a good idea of the quality of the greens. Over all loved the course. It will be my regular stop on future visits to the area.
Love the layout
Well maintained, friendly workers, love the layout,
