The stunning fourth. Tricky, strategic and exhilarating. Yet fatal on the left side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eight. Bold 3-par of 204. You’ll need a fine tee shot to keep the wolf at the door. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eleven. Solid tee-to-green test. Hitting and putting this green are the keys. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Thirteen: Wedging into a green pared down to essentials: a frontal bunker, a narrowing surface, then a big backside falloff. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Sixteen. Dr. Hurdzan’s greens resemble those of Donald Ross: crafted, meticulous, well-contoured. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eighteen. #2 index. Problems galore. As at all par-5’s here, playing the angles well may save you from disaster. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Challenging course. In very good shape.
Challenging course. In very good shape for even considering it was mid-August. Will definitely play again.
Great course. Great conditions…except for 10/11 were completely covered in water. Understandable though because it was pouring rain for a good portion of the round
Must Play Here
This course is fantastic. A must play in my opinion. I used to drive more than an hour to play there . Staff is very friendly. You can tell it’s a great working environment that must start from the top. Course is very fair but can be difficult if you find yourself on the wrong side of some greens ! The only reason it scored a 4 for amenities is that there is no restaurant but they do have sandwiches , hotdogs & snacks & drinks!
Best Value Around
This course never disappoints. Always well maintained tee to green. A challenging yet rewarding layout. Friendly staff. I have never paid more that $50 to play here, it is well worth the hour drive. An underrated course that is always guaranteed multiple plays a year for me.
Awesome course. Fantastic value. Worth the drive.
A perfect weather Saturday for a one person Hot Deal for $41.99. I was hoping that the threesome that I'd be joining had played the course before since this was my first time.
The practice facility with multiple greens and grass driving range is basically right next to the first tee. You can hear the starter announce which tee time is up. This might be the best practice range/first tee arrangement that I've ever seen.
The course is in awesome shape, maintained more like a private club than a public course. The combination of interesting architecture and excellent conditions made for a great experience. If you've ever played Wyncote and Galen Hall, this course is a mix of the two. Strongly encourage first timers to partner up with someone who has played the course before; I would have been lost a good bit without some coaching on where to hit. Might be worth noting that I'd prefer to play here than Wyncote as this course is more interesting.
I rated it 5 stars despite the tee boxes being a mess, which was very odd. The entire course was in stellar condition, including fantastic greens, quite a few with severe and interesting plateaus, but what's up with those tee boxes fellas????!!!!! Rolly polly....hardly a flat lie! So, that's actually a sign of what an awesome course this is, that the tee boxes could be a mess but the course still rates top notch.
Pace of play for Saturday noon tee time was excellent. My total wait time over 18 holes was about 2 minutes.
A lot of reviews of this and other courses talk about whether or not it's worth the drive...depends if you work, have kids, etc...time is a personal thing, but for me this 45 minute drive was like being on vacation. Route 1 is super easy and relaxing and Rt 272 is a pure scenic ride.
Definitely recommend the Pilgrim's Oak experience.
Great Course
Great track. Highly recommend. 5 -1/2 inches of rain the night before led to slower pace of greens initially.. As day went on greens picked up speed as they dried. Despite the massive amount of rain, there was no standing water on the course.
Good amount of elevation changes throughout the course. Pretty setting and pretty course..
Great Course
Hidden gem not far from southern Chester county. Great track!!
They set the bar high for public golf courses
First, Pilgrims Oak gc isn't near anyone near the Maryland border with PA. This may be why to attract golfers from tri state area they must provide a great golf experience. Mission accomplished. From the Michael Hurdzen design (ErinHills, ect) where every hole is different and interesting ,to the impeccable course conditions this course was a pure joy to play. Pace of play was okay for Saturday afternoon and the staff and pro shop was adequate. All i can say is if this course was within half an hour of my home i would play here several times a month ,its that good! I will be back.
Nicely maintained
The course was in great shape, pace of play was a little slow but not terrible, the greens were in great shape and the rest of the course was well manicured. Hope to get back there again soon, enjoyed my round completely.
GR 8 course
One of the best in this area. Well maintained. Beautiful sceneries. Low price.
Pace of play slow
The front 9 was 2:10 not bad on a Sunday afternoon. The wheels came off on the back 9 with a 2:35 time. Would have liked to see a ranger as there were really just 2 foursomes slowing things down. One of the foursomes drove all over the 18 th hole with it being cart path only and still no ranger.
Must Play
Although overcast and drizzly, everything was awesome. Greens were the best I've played to date....over 30 rounds. Dry course.
Hidden Gem
Well maintained and I have to give credit to the people that play there. Everyone fixes divids in the fairway as well as pitch marks on the greens . Pin placements can be challenging but over all fair. Just a great hidden gem. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, I do recommend car pooling if possible.
