The stunning fourth. Tricky, strategic and exhilarating. Yet fatal on the left side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eight. Bold 3-par of 204. You’ll need a fine tee shot to keep the wolf at the door. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eleven. Solid tee-to-green test. Hitting and putting this green are the keys. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Thirteen: Wedging into a green pared down to essentials: a frontal bunker, a narrowing surface, then a big backside falloff. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Sixteen. Dr. Hurdzan’s greens resemble those of Donald Ross: crafted, meticulous, well-contoured. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eighteen. #2 index. Problems galore. As at all par-5’s here, playing the angles well may save you from disaster. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Long hot summer
The weather and I’m sure the course itself has been hot. Signs of ware and tear are showing. A few boxes were thin on grass and could use a leveling. Greens fast.
Always well above average keeps me making the hour+ drive a few times a year. Can get an occasional deal here too. Recommend to anyone and everyone
Solid Track
I regularly played this course when I lived in Maryland and try to do so on trips to the area. From a course condition perspective, it remains above average. Many ball marks, but that’s public golf and bent greens in the summer. One disappointing change was that the greens fees no longer included range balls. When I played this course regularly, range balls were complementary and stack in the classic pyramid style. A nice touch for a public course that’s been replaced with a range ball machine. Also, the range is devoid of ANY targets. Just a green field. I don’t need an Augusta National practice facility, but would it really involve that much added maintenance if a few areas of the range were mowed shorter and a few flags were placed on these areas, especially since range balls are no longer free. Another oddity is that there’s no free water on the course. Instead, bottles of water are kept in coolers and available for 50 cents - although you can “unlock” the coolers and just take a bottle, if you’re so inclined (I was not and put $1 in the money slot for 2 bottles) - so the entire set up seems odd. Just do what most courses do and offer a few large thermos with cold water at a couple of tee boxes on each nine.
Like a fine wine...
I love this track!! Course conditions were stellar with "carpet like" fairways and fast greens. This seems to be one course where the majority of players actually fix their pitch marks. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the waste bunker on #14 has been replaced with 3 smaller circular bunkers with the best sand I have ever seen at that course. Now if they could just do that with ALL the bunkers...If you have never played Pilgrim's Oak, this is a "must play" course! You will not be disappointed.
Brig a doon!
Pilgrims Oak golf course is not located near anywhere, perhaps that's the appeal in making the trek from Phila area or Wash-Balt. Area. It is an absolutely fantastic layout over PA farmland and woods near the Susquehanna river. Every hole is unique, and a different challenge. Conditions are over the top good always tee to green. The staff is friendly & accommodating. This course would either be private or $100+ per round if closer to anywhere. My only wish is that it was less than 1 1/2 hours from my SJ home. At around $40 per round it is a steal I recommend making the trip you will not be disappointed,it's that good!
Hidden Grm
The course is in great shape. It’s like 2 different courses with a open front and hilly back. The warm up area is wonderful. A grass tee box on the practice range , a separate chipping area including a bunker and a nice putting green.
The price was right as well. If this place wasn’t over an hour from home it would be in regular rotation but I’ll definitely be back.
Pilgrim Oaks
Very enjoyable round of golf. Drove 90 minutes to get out there, but it was well worth the long drive.
Traps were a little hit or miss, but not too bad. Their Tee Boxes were all un-level and crowned, the day we were there. GREAT value for a very nice course. I would make the long trek out there to play it again.
Challenging Course
The course is a gem, the challenge is primarily on the putting side.
Thiat makes it hard to score . Even when you are consistently hitting greens in regulation
Always a great day
Probably the best bang for your buck within a 2 hour radius. Always a good day for $50. Staff is amazing from pro shop to starter. Played with my sons who are high handicapper and they loved it. Fast greens in great shape. Fairways were wide and in good shape. No holes are alike and elevation changes that are surprising. You will not be disappointed.
Great Course
Played Sunday on Fathers Day, and the course was in great shape! Greens were fast and rolled true. Course was overall in great shape.
Great course
Some tough pin placements. My game wasn’t up to the challenge, maybe next time! Looking forward to my next round.
Could be the best golf value in Tri-state area.
Truly beautiful course set on rolling hills. Course is in virtually perfect condition tee to green. These greens may be the best in PA. Very challenging. Greens were obviously designed with pin positions in mind and some of the pins are nearly impossible to access even with a stellar wedge shot.
I liken this course to an amusement park. Every hole is a wild ride and unique experience. This is not a boring back and forth and up and back. On most tees you can see the whole ride from the tee box, the twists, the turns, the mounds, the drop offs, the water, the traps - all in front of you. This course is the best kept secret in PA.
Never disappoints
Pilgrim's Oak is such a great track...worth the hour drive...always in great shape...very challenging course with amazing green
complexes that always tend to produce tough pin locations...terrific views thanks to the elevation changes which are constant through the routing....difficult par 3's after the relatively simple #4...the 12th hole is simply beautiful...lengthy par 5's including the tough finishing hole...many of the par 4's have landing areas that are more generous than the view from the tee would have you believe...a course right up there with Wyncote, PA & Greystone in MD...you simply are gonna shoot a bit higher of a score because the course gives you nothing and it's not simple....the property is pretty wide open so the wind is a feature of the course.
