Needs TLC
Could be a really good track. The bones are there and I can imagine what a fun track this was when it saw better days.
Bunkers are unplayable and just about unrecognizable.
Greens are still holding on to life.
Fairways are patchy but playable. Currently punched.
I can see some work underway so I hope they’re putting some effort into restoring what could be a gem.
6100 yards from the tips and $58 for a weekend morning round, so it’s a good place to practice.
Great value, tons of potential, and nice views
Had low expectations going into the cheap round. Welcomed by friendly staff upon arrival who let us know of recent aeration on the back 9. Fairways and greens were fine, and should be great in a week or two. The course layout is awesome, however is a work in progress. Even in the current state, I would play this all day long for $40. This a great low pressure course for any player. Had a great time and will be back! Under 4 hour round.
hidden jewel for intermediate golfers
The bunkers need more sand and to be racked. Bring plenty of balls.
Weeds
Fairway ok but along the fairway the rough weeds were high and thick. Cutting weeds would hurry play up because you could find your ball sooner.
Overall okay
Course was alright, driving range sucked, greens were good, sand bunkers were rock hard. A couple holes were under construction but the bunkers haven’t been touched in a long time, they were rock hard with grass growing up in them. Overall the course was not worth the $57 I paid
What Happened
What Happened!!!! This course was one of the best courses in all of North County???? The fairways looked like they haven’t been mowed in months and there are weeds everywhere from the rough, fairways and to the sand boxes. I haven’t played there in 20+ years and was really looking forward to it but man I was pretty bummed to see the course in the shape that it was. I only gave pace of play a good score because we were the second tee time so we played quickly but it was horrible. I hope that the course goes back to the way it used to be soon.
Beat up...
This course is like your alcoholic, pervy uncle that did time for hitting his old lady. The carts are his liver. On their last leg, you’ll be lucky if you make it the whole 18. The fairways are like his 5 o clock shadow. Super patchy and hard to tell where it starts and where it ends. The bunkers are like his crusty nut rag next to the pile of Hawk magazines from 16 years ago, don’t go near them bro. The rough is like his back hair sticking out from the wife beater, it’s like 8” long in some spots and bald AF a foot away. The greens are similar to your uncles vericose calf “muscles”- bumpy and hard to look at. OMG you guys, the driving range is like his apartment...it’s kinda spooky and disorganized and unkempt, if you’re ever gonna die on a golf course-this is top 5.... all that being said, I love my uncle despite his faults, and I will continue to visit him once a year and then get mad at myself for wasting the money because he will never change.
New favorite course
This place really blew my mind. The greens were in as good of shape than your top tier golf courses. Pace of play was excellent. Staff was cool. I really enjoyed this as much as I have ever enjoyed the game. This is my new favorite spot.
Boulder Oaks
Beautiful, warm, sunny Sunday for my first visit to this course. Course conditions okay, but don’t stack up against other courses I play.
Greens in good shape, but markedly slow.
Finally, way too much waiting on every shot made for a 5-hour round!! Not sure what could be done, given the 5 par 3’s and short par 5’s, which apparently everyone believes they can reach in two!
Will definitely play it again, did like the layout, but probably on a weekday.
a farm field
I would be embarrassed to own this course. The starter and a local who joined us said to pick up our ball from the bunkers as they aren't maintained ( hard packed soil). Basically an unkept meadow fairway and rough.
Very short course. We played with a local who admitted it should be an executive course however the owner made 10, 11, 12 into par 5s with incorrect yardage (and a few par 4s that should be par 3s) so that he could achieve a course par of 70.
Hilly so balls hit left roll off the fairway right, and vice versa, so count on several lost balls. Starter apologized that fairway needs mowing and yes tons of cover that trap your ball. Never a flat putt on the greens so very difficult. Narrow fairways and lots of hidden tee shots so not great for first timers.
Our electric cart battery died approaching 14 tee so we called pro shop and lost 15 minutes waiting for a new cart.
Yardages are out by 20 yards on several holes so take a rangefinder.
No sandwiches available to buy to take out with you, only coffee and muffins and pop.
Great views of the area from various tees.
Needs work
Course was in horrible condition. Weeds everywhere in what were supposed to be fairways.
