Dos Osos Golf Club

About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

It wasn’t the worst course but wasn’t told at check-in that I had to play the front nine twice because the back nine was closed down. All the greens were just sanded.
Great Value!
Tee box grass a little long. Fairways a work in progress. Bunkers great. Greens ok. Cool layout, and perfect pace.
Not bad at all
Very underrated course, use to be in bad shape. Seems like the new team is really making some changes for the better.
Great Course!
After reading this course was rated the worse course in the country I was a bit bummed I booked this course. But my friends and I still went out and was thoroughly impressed how JC Golf revamped the course. definitely will play this course again
Much improved from my last outing several years ago. You can tell JC are working on the course and facilities. Excellent staff and marshals. Much improved conditions on the course, I will definitely be coming back.
keeps getting better
Starting to look like a golf course again!
Used to play regularly (30 years ago?) and really liked it but to move out of area.
Returned ~18 mos ago before current renovation and what a mess: not much green,
chest-high weeds, even in some bunkers!!
Say goodbye to any ball off "fairway"(if you can call it that). Compared to 18 months ago, HUGE improvement!! Becoming more enjoyable again and at this pace will soon be recommending to friends.
I think the starter was pushing out groups too fast and caused some slow play. Other than that awesome course
Great course
We had a blast playing this course. Greens were pretty slow but the staff mentioned this was due to them recently taking over the course and the greens take some time to develop. Tee boxes were well kept. It’s a fun mix of holes, some are pretty narrow but others open up nicely. $60 for 18 with a cart, I’ll be coming back for sure.
Course for thoughts
This course is not bad at all. I was actually impressed on how nice it was to hit out of the bunkers. Better then mission trails and the vineyard
Greatly Improved
Dos Osos has been getting better. Since the beginning of the year when I last played DO the course conditions have improved. It's still a little rough in a couple places. Nice layout. Staff is friendly. Played mid week @ 240p and got around in 3:50. <$40 and it was well worth it.
Better than before but still needs work
It’s been two years since we golfed here and heard it was much better since name change and JC took over. The greens are 100% better. The fairways still have a long ways to go to make me want to come back again. I’ll stick to the other JC courses as they are way better. Not sure this should be a JC course still awful
Still needs some work
Eagle Crest it used to be, Dos Osos it is now. JC golf has made some improvements, but still has a way to go, especially if they are going to want to charge the rates they are advertising.
Tee boxes are better, fairways are greener, greens are very nice. They raked and put some real sand in the traps now as well.
SO much better!
I played this course maybe seven months ago before it was taken over by JC Golf and it was a disaster! Worst course I’ve had ever played. But six months later it is so much better! Tee boxes were nice, fairways had grass for the most part, greens were really nice. Pace of play was great! And with a $24 hot deal, The Green fee was very affordable! JC Golf does a great job managing their golf courses!
Dos Osos
I saw lots of bad reviews for this place but 27.50 is 27.50 so I went with my 3 friends, It surprised all of us and was very worth the money and trip. The course was lightly challenging so it’s great for all skill levels.
Amazing improvements from a few months ago
I played this course a few months back and decided to return recently and I’m glad I did. The improvements are noticeable across the board, from course conditions to overall playability. Everything was well-maintained and much more enjoyable this time around. Looking forward to coming back again soon!
Needs a lot of work
I have played this course when it was Eagle Crest at a time when it was in much better condition. The staff is friendly and I was told that they have a plan for improvement. For $85 dollars, as a JC Resort member, there are other courses in my area that are in much better shape for a similar price. Just wanted all to know before you book a tee time. Fairways and many of the greens are pretty rough. The also took out the driving range and replaced with 2 bays for practice shots. The practice putting green was also in rough shape and had “no chipping” signs. Layout of the course is great and I hope they are able to improve the condition. We will see 🤔
