This course I have played for the past 20 years but I will not be going back. In complete disrepair bordering on a cow pasture. It wouldn't be worth $10 much less $45. This course will close I'm sure which is a shame as it was good in the old days. Fairways lack grass and watering. Bunkers have weeds growing and are not maintained. Probably the worst course in San Diego county.

Disappointed no grass just weeds in fairways looks like there out of water on course probably will not stay open much longer feel sorry for homeowners that bought there home on this course Sad situation

Worst course ever
This course has gopher holes everywhere. The fairways looked like they haven’t bee watered and look terrible. . There is no driving range. The restaurant is closed. It is not worth the money.

A course that gave up
Horrible course. Horrible conditions. For 65$ is robbery.

It’s getting better
Castlecreek, is one of my favorite layouts for a golf course. It’s fair, challenging and pretty fun. The greens are coming back a little bit - the fairways are rough, but the pace of play is fantastic and the price is pretty good / I go there to practice a lot. I’d like to see it come back to its former glory, but I don’t know if that’s gonna happen. The restaurant is closed.

Somewhat shabby
Pro shop was in serious disrepair, as were all other amenities. Most of the greens were in good shape, but fairways and bunkers very poor. Overall had an alright experience, but for $45 there are much nicer places to play a round.

Helpful Suggestions
It would be easy to complain about all of the problems at this course. Instead, I'll offer some suggestions as to how to make it better.
1. Trees: Many of the trees on this course have gone decades without PROFESSIONAL trimming. Quite a few are dead but remain standing. Trimming the trees properly and with a "golfer's eye" (don't block a nice draw shot) will add to the golfer's experience. Removing many of the Eucalyptus will also help reduce the debris and provide for healthier growth of grass. Trees that are not removed should be heavily "laced" or "pollard cut". The trees are trying to get water to all branches and they are drying out because they have to work too hard. You need a major tree company to work with a true greenskeeper to get this course back to playable and fun.
2. Grass: The course is no longer in a position to just aerate the grass (which you never do, especially the fairways) - You need to consider resodding. Just take one hole and prove to the public what you can do. Right now, people never want to come back because it just doesn't seem like it's ever going to get better. Leaving all the Eucalyptus debris on the grass just makes it worse. The rodent control is non-existent and makes the cart ride a very rough experience.
3. Sand Traps: Please visit the golf courses around town and take a survey of the traps. These are the worst in town. To improve, you need to remove much of the dirt that exists now and replace with proper sand. Another idea would be to eliminate a few. (example Hole 15 trap behind the hole) Then you could allocate sand trap resources to fewer traps.
4. General Maintenance: Much improvement can be made by simply raking, weed whipping, blowing leaves off, etc. Here again, if the trees get taken care of, there would be a lot less to maintain.
5. Revenue: You must invest in your future. The Vineyard brings in more than $300K/month because they offer a desireable product. When people are done playing Castle, they don't want to come back. If you upgraded your product, more people will play. You can barely get a tee time at other courses but CC is wide open. There is a reason for that. How about buying one of those 5 station practice nets, setting it up in the parking lot and offer $15 bucket of balls with a beer special? How about reaching out to locals and giving them a special deal if they bring new players?
This course sits right on the interstate in an incredibly fast growing area. It has a liquor license. How can it be that you don't compare with Pala? Vineyard? Golf Club Fallbrook? Temecula? Rather than think you can do all of this yourself, what you really need to do is hire a real golf course manager, pay him or her well and hand over responsibility to them. You need to give the crew better equipment. They can't do this without proper resources.
I urge you to take this to heart. I want nothing but success for this unpolished gem.

The golf course from h e l l … stay away
Even the course marshals and starters agree the owner sucks and shouldn’t be in the golf industry.
Bunkers are sold mud
Fairways haven’t been cut in months

It was wide open on a Saturday morning well because the course is absolute crap and people would rather save their money and play elsewhere..

Won't go back.
This may have been nice years ago since there is a resort on it. But, it was the worst. Grass in the dirt bunkers. Fairways were awful. Greens as well. No driving range.
