Good price but overcrowded
They only had 9 holes open so with a 7 am tee time you end up running into the 9 am tee time players when you come around to play the same 9 holes again. We quit after waiting in line behind a couple of groups. I have figures out that whenever you see a really cheap rate that there is definetly a reason. We had fun though and still played 3 hours of golf
Almost not playable
The course should notify Golfnow that 9 holes are currently CLOSED due to the city of Tucson fixing a drainage ditch. The back 9 was the only side open. Additionally, the course fairways were literally dirt and mud with very few patches of actual grass. Disappointing and further disappointing from golfnow with no alerts.
Bad condition
The. Course is only open on the back, which I did not know when booking. The course I'd in the worst condition I've ever seen, I withhold nor recommend playing this course until at least the end of the year.
Don’t go here
The people are very nice however the course was in terrible condition. I realize this course isn’t the crown jewel of the Tucson city courses but this was beyond bad No grass on the tee boxes some fairways were the same. Years ago it was a very nice track not sure what happened but I won’t be back
Course under construction
Just a heads up, it was under construction when I last played it. I wish the fairways had some more give.
Good friendly staff
The staff is berry good however was filled rushed by the group behind us over all very good course
Good Round
1st time out this since the shutdown.
Good spacing. Could have more hand sanitizer around the clubhouse and perhaps on the course itself.
Paid for the round indoors and staff member didn't wear a mask. I saw two other staff with masks. One at the food area and the other cleaning carts.
Driving range lacked grass to tee up on.
They cleaned carts when they came in but there is a lack of direction as to which carts are clean or not.
Course needs some TLC. I suspect it will get better in time.
Wow
Wow course looked great!! Best I’ve seen since I’ve ever played it !! Wanted to play another 18 .please go and play this course
Great course for the value
This isn’t the Omni by any means. The course is in great shape though. The fairways and greens were all lush and green. This is an extremely open course as well. This is nice for when you hit off center shots because you always have a decent lie to the green. I’ll be back.
Staff is always very friendly and make you feel welcome
El Rio Tucson
Tucson has 5 city run courses with this being the least desirable. Personal are great, but it's just a old course that has run it's course so to speak. Several years ago our city council had a chance to sell this land for a new Private college. that did end up in the Phx. area. and doing extremely well. One more reason why this city will not excel. Save your money and play elsewhere.
El rio
Great city course. Has tee boxes for all levels of experience. Friendly staff . Greens in great shape. Played course 5 times enjoyed every round
Go somewhere else
I don’t mean any disrespect at all to this course and the personal - and I may be spoiled from going to starr Pass or Dove Mountain, Ventana Canyon and Arizona National - but this course just feels like something the city should be giving away for free. The staff was nice, but the course is a 1 out of 10. Sand traps are more like concrete buckets, and the holes are so close together that the chances of you either hitting someone or you getting hit by a ball is pretty good. Greens were actually pretty decent, but the layout was awful.
