This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Good value, nice layout
Course is good condition and value for the price. Group in front of us took 2:45 to play the front 9 and didn't waive us by. No ranger. Front 9 is ok, the back has some quality holes. Definitely recommend!

Stay on the fairways you'll be fine the rough is deceptively thick greens are challenging as most holes roll and break away from the pin good times .

Overall the course was in good condition you can still see the scarring from aeration on some of the holes but it was smooth greens were a little fast very challenging bunker for clean fairways were taken care of the greens weren't tore up.
Nice layout super fast greens
40 minutes outside Palm Springs Oak Valley is a must play course that is a difficult layout chipping and putting are a real test here not a well groomed corse but lots of fun to play restaurant is supposed to open end of November good value for the average golfer
Good condition as of 11/05/23
Played this course in 4.5 hours. Overall condition is great. My overall score was terrible w the slope rating of 140. The two toughest holes were not that hard for me. Must keep eye on the ball if you land in the rough. Some holes could be narrow but we can all shoot straight…not. lol
Tee boxes could be patched up a bit more but it doesn’t bother me.
Marshall comes around from time to time to inform us about the slow group. We also try to keep up w the pace since finding a ball not on the fairway could take time. The snack stand was open but no cart girl anywhere. I would be glad to take up that job. All in all, I’d recommend the course.
Great value, tough course
We had a tee time for 11:30, but were able to go early. Tee boxes were well marked, though we struggled to understand why the markers with the hole numbers were not facing the direction that the golfers were approaching. Fairways were in great shape and greens were fast. Rough was very punitive. Bunkers were variable. Some were good, but others were hard and rocky. Pro shop had almost no inventory, and they are apparently trying to find a vendor to run their restaurant which is too bad.

Great course!
Played here many times and we fall more in love with it each time. It's challenging but enjoyable, and the scenery can't be beat, particularly on the back nine. Highly recommended for anyone who's looking for an affordable and memorable round of golf!
