Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions Course

Course was in bad shape, all greens played differently because of how they were cut. Course was very wet yet rates are too high for this time of year course condition.

The main problem I had on this visit? I paid $328 for my wife, myself and my in-laws to play a round.

My 71 year-old mother-in-law got tired after the first 9 and decided to sit the 2nd 9 out as the rain had picked back up and temps were around 50 degrees.

The course informed her as she was getting a meal in the bar that they were closing the course and she would not be able to stay in the warm building and they would kick her out.

I drove back up to clubhouse and found her out in the cold, I put her into the car and turned the heat on.

Absolutely pathetic customer service, it’s very clear that Management only cares about how many people they are paying to be there and not the customer.

Best part? There were still many staff on-hand until the end of our round despite them deciding to close right after we made the turn.

I will never, and I mean ever play at this course again.

Been coming here for a while. Usually decent, bunkers are unplayable but that’s expected at this point. Love the layout though. This round just played… terrible. Backed up by 3 groups on every tee box. Can’t believe I just payed $100 to wait around on every shot. The course knows this is happening and still has the audacity to charge full price. I would like my money back lol. *keep in mind, already waited for 2 groups before I took the picture.

We get to the first tee and we are early. So the started allowed us go early. We get to the first tee and there is a twosome in the first fairway and a SIXSOME on the green. We go back to the starter, and he said they agreed to break up after the first hole and anyway the course marshal would be around to make sure. Well neither of those things happened. The played as a sixsome the entire round and never saw a course marshal all day. Nice course layout playing conditions average. But never believe the starter. Not the friendly group of people from the entire staff.

It appears as though Golf Course has some serious irrigation issues with flooding in many spots. The greens are also struggling, it appears no one has taught the course workers how to cut a cup and replace the plug with mini scalps on the greens, worst of all the bunkers on the legends course have no sand at all. It’s a shame that this course has fallen so far.

Course was in great condition, greens were fast. Got out early and played in a little over 4 hrs

Ruts from other carts driving through over watered low areas. Need to mow just off fairways. For being Morongo I expected more and was disappointed

The course is a great layout and property, but it needs more TLC to be in great condition. The staff was not real friendly / helpful to a first time player either

Golf course was in good condition after the rain the day before. Couple of holes had cart path only because of it. The only issue is the bunker they are hard so we play they as a hazard and can have practice swings. Overall this is my home course

I actually expected more. They should try and mow a little bit shorter. If your ball is 1 foot off the fairway, you can’t find it because the grass is too tall and the clippings from when they just mowed are all on top and hide the ball under. Rats from the carts all over the fairways. I just expected more.

Slow play but nice course and will definitely come back.
