It is almost a links golf course
The layout of Hunter Ranch is good. The front is challenging, but far easier than the back nine.
I'm sure the back nine wouldn't be easier the 2nd time around, but still challenging.
The course is walkable, but you need to be in shape to walk 18.
If I'm in the area, I will definitely play Hunter Ranch again.
Great conditions around the fairways and greens the group in front of us slow players but Marshall is around to keep pace.
Played on a pretty hot day / course was dried out with lots of roll on your ball / greens were fast / restaurant only open until 4 pm / starting time was 11:50 / could not finish in time to eat / used points from GolfNow or it would have been too much money for this course
Well groomed golf course. Receptive greens that are firm, reasonably fast and fairways in great shape.
I have played here a handful of times. It’s a must if you’re visiting the Paso area. Not a super long course but it play difficult.
4/10 Golf Outing
The course was in beautiful condition and the weather perfect. I meet my son here as it's half way between LA and SF and had a totally great time with him at Hunter Ranch.
Very nice course
I was impressed with this course. There are many elevation changes and spectacular views of the surrounding vineyards that stretch for miles against a mountainous backdrop. The greens were fast and manicured clean, no brown or bare spots to be found. The front nine is mostly forgiving with wide fairways, the back nine more challenging with tighter fairways and hazards to negotiate. Only downside, I wouldn't put this course in the $110 category. For $70 - $80, definiitely worth it. I do recommend the course itself and would gladly play again for the right price.
Nice course, but some frustration
The tee boxes, fairways, greens all in very good shape. The fringes around some of the greens were absolutely perfect. Several elevation changes and beautiful views. My only complaint is lack of information. No pictures on the scorecard or at the tee box providing a layout of the hole. Yardage not clearly marked at all. Several times I wondered where to go to find the next hole, and ended up in the path of other players shots. The course itself was beautiful, in very good condition, a great value for the money. Nice bar/restaurant and friendly service. My only complaint is the layout/logistics which were confusing since it was my first time playing the course.
Amazing Course with perfect greens
I play with a 6 handicap and this course definitely made me work for every stroke from the tips. The layout is excellent with with some generous and tight fairways. The course definitely rewards for finding the fairways. Some good elevation change from tee to green but the Greens were excellent. Fast but true rolls, not to hard, no problem with getting the balls to check up. Definitely enjoyed the walk and beautiful scenery with natural mature trees and rolling hills. Would definitely play this course again if I’m ever in the area.
Fun day of golf
My only complaint is the restaurant bar closed to early 4pm.
