Amazing conditions
What a gem! This course never disappoints, the greens are the best you will ever putt on. The layout is challenging for the long hitters with blind doglegs and hazards you can’t see from the tee. If it’s your first time play to the 150 poles. If you’re passing through Paso and just wanna catch a round then bomb it and cut the corners and go LOW! The greens are pristine with subtle breaks that you can feel and read. They roll true and fast. Great facilities with friendly bartenders, so grab and go, or you might stay in there and miss your position on the 10th tee.
Great course and beautiful weather
I was driving from Santa Barbara to Fresno and checked Golf Now to see if any tee times were available. Sure enough there was one for 11:50 am and I was pared with 3 other golfers thst turned out to be a great 4 some to play together. The greens are fast and the play was not slow.
Great day on the Hunter Ranch
Weather was perfect, and the course was in as good of shape as possible considering the months of rain.
Reality
We rolled in a day after a huge storm and the course was open! The staff was inviting and understanding. Two three-somes (guys and wives in separate groups) went out in cold and mist, on cart path only. We obviously knew what we were getting into. People are too picky to play golf, course drains fine (during a storm no less). Our wives were cold and quit after 9; the pro shop gave a 9 hole refund when they didn’t have to. Staff was nice and just happy to be working under the current conditions. The only negative is that the carts are too GPS touchy. Had to go backwards a little too long. Good fun.
Poor drainage. Poor course conditioning. Annoying Cart / GPS nannying. Some interesting holes and layout., but over priced
Hunter Ranch
The guy in the pro shop basically treated me like a second class citizen because I paid through golf now. I worked in the golf industry and know how to keep t-times on track. My buddy and I showed up early warmed up and asked the shop if we could go ahead since no one was on or waiting to tee off. We were told that there was a two some going in front of us then we could go. 15 minutes later, the twosome still had not shown up so I went in and asked again if we could go. He said that he had customers that paid full price so they had the right to tee off in front of us. I told him I understood that but they never showed up. Then he said go ahead because they went to the driving range. We could have teed off a good 30 minutes prior to this. Sorry for looking for t-time deals Hunter Creek staff. This left a bad taste in my mouth about this place.
Nice but needs review before playing
I will defiantly be play again once the repairs have been made due to January storms.
No cart
I understand no carts when it’s unnecessary on the course but having to walk without notice is unacceptable. I paid cart fee and told to walk. My 70 year old father in law is in pain today due to is.
Great Hot Deal..
..But….,Everything was really great today, except I purchased a golf now deal where I ended up getting booked with other golfers who thought they were on a safari or something. They were wonderful people to play with, but they seemed to care less about pace of play. It was fine since we had no one behind us, but would’ve loved a slightly quicker pace. Course conditions were really nice from my perspective. Good Wednesday at this track overall, So….thank you Hunter Ranch!🏌️♂️
Always a good time
Hunter Ranch is very nice course. Love the layout and the greens. In winter the fairways are a little thin but fine. Other than that Hunter is always a good time.
