Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Only negative was there was no water to drink on course or a cart girl after 3:00. It was 90 degrees so we were pretty dry.

Not bad at all

First of all, you're not paying for or playing on a country club. That being said, I would certainly play here again. The fairway grass was excellent. The greens were fast but firm. Get off the fairway and it is basically gravel. The course is fairly long. I liked it.

Greens very fast

Kind of surprising, quite a few greens were very fast. Course is in reasonable shape for this time of the year. For as busy as it was, moved o.k. Took 4 1/2 hours to finish the 18.

Apache creek

Course was ok, lots of “dessert” terrain, pace of play was ok, we were very rushed the whole time, made it not enjoyable

Terrible conditions and layout

I rarely say anything but this is the worst course I have played. I don't think they even overseeeded with rye. Tight fairways, hard ground with nothing but dirt and Bushes

Poor layout and confusing, virtually no cart paths and the picture of a hole srrounded by water is non existent. Pace was slow, waiting on every hole. Cart girl drove by so fast couldn't even get an opportunity to buy anything. For $60 and on a "hot deal" I feel ripped off. Wouldn't play again for free!

Keep your head up

The course layout is such that you may have wear a hardhat to be safe. One ball came right through the cart while we were approaching the next tee. The group drove right by us at the tee box, and continued to play...not a word. The very next hole, someone hit one upon our tee box as we were teeing off. After the first issue, we felt uncomfortable, and after the 2nd issue, we came seriously close to just leaving. We are holidaying down here, so our golf opportunities are limited, so we stayed, as we only had about 2-3 more holes to go.

Had fun

Good challenge but a lot of desert as balls run easily through the hard fairways.

Slow and over booked.

Slow play and late tee off had us 2 holes short of 18! 4 and 1/2 hours to play 16 holes, waiting on every T box 5 to 10 min. No marshal in site.
