We both overshot a short part 3. Photo submitted by Michael1935850 on 09/23/2013
Covid hot spot and poor conditions
Started off Gary the starter was very rude because I didn’t want to ride with someone not in my party. The greens are still a poor excuse for over seeding. Way too long for this late in the rye overseed. Many Bare spots and very bumpy due to so many bare spots. No drinks available in the Oro shop. Beer cart had one water for sale. The manager at the pro shop came out to the range where I was warming up to tell me I could not play here if I’m not willing to ride with someone I don’t know. In front of my group was a father son in two separate carts. Doesn’t even make sense. I have been in the golf industry for over 30 yrs starting my career as a mower for loyd McKenzie at Augusta. I don’t expect championship staff but the confrontational attitude of this staff is unbelievable. My wife was very uncomfortable and we will never return. Very sad it has a nice mid level layout if they could get it in shape and change the culture of the staff. The regulars I played with said this has been the problem along with overloading the course so we waited on probably 15 of the 18 holes.
Covid Alert
Torress Blancas is requiring players to ride with people they don’t know. Terrible practice not sure if it isn’t breaking Pima county ordinance. But will turn them in.
Nice Course
Just transitioned to rye grass for the winter, but overall in good shape!
My day at torres
no ice or water available prior to going out. Bev cooler in pro shop empty of water before golf and at the turn.
Fairways were great to hit off of. Greens were a poor excuse for overseeded greens many bare and blank spots.
Torres Blancas 9/30
Fairways and greens still fuzzy from over seed. Tire tracks on greens need to be rolled out.
Cart path only
Course in very good condition except for greens. (need work) Would play here again using 2 put rule.
Nice layout
Greens were complete mess. Like putting on shag carpet.
When I spoke to the ranger he was rude about it. They should have reduced the price and definitely have a course alert. Shameful
Greens
Overall very happy great course and early Am helped.Greens however felt and played like a course in a third world nation, very bumpy and chewed up,look more like they were used for a driving range .
Lots of fun, great price and good tempo
The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape and made the round very enjoyable. No carts on grass was hard but pace was still very good. Greens needed to be cut so putting was a challenge. This was the first day it was open after overseeding. I will be booking again soon.
Marshals intimidated my wife and my friend’s wife.
We understand the course was over seeded and need to stay on cart paths. But there are many, many solid dirt/desert areas where there is shade. One Marshall was outright rude and made the ladies very intimidated. There’s no need for that.
Over priced
Over priced, the course should’ve dropped the price for the over grown greens or shut down during the over seeding process.
The course should have been mowed before it was opened
We paid $42 a person which was too high for the condition of the course. It was cart path only which we followed. The grass in the tee boxes was so high it was hard to judge tee placement. The greens were ridiculously bumpy.... However what was most disappointing was a Marshall who rudely told us we were one hole behind even though there was no one behind us. We played the course in 4 hours. Also, the same Marshall drove head on into me and when I moved my cart off the course into the rocky desert, he snidely told me that I had to have 4 wheels on the cart path at all times. I responded that I was trying to get out of his way to which just glared at me. He then stated the same to the woman behind me who also got out of his way. It will be a long while before we return and that Marshall needs to learn golf course etiquette.
My group had to wait at every tee box, starting the tenth hole marshal came up to inform us of slow play we had a threesome in front of us about 180 yards, point this out to him and just told us to speed up. That same marshal came up on us 6 more times during the back nine all he saw was my group and the the groups that were driving carts next to greens and on the fairways. So much for cart path only. In all my rounds I have never been stalked by a marshal
The Course is in bad shape
Greens are in really bad shape
The Fairway grass is way overgrown
Staff Unpolite & Rude
Green Are on the worst condition ever
Fairways are rough n grass is uncut
Torres Blancas 9/25
Reseed had just been completed and new grass sprouting. Because o this the fairways and greens were not consistent. That said, we still had fun.
Casual round of golf
a good day at Torres Blancas. Over seed conditions and cart path only. The fairways were pretty decent. The greens were slow, which one would expect. Overall, a pretty good day!
