About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Great course, punched greens
I make it a point to play San Ignacio every year despite that it is more than 100 miles from my home. The course layout is wonderful. However, conditions Thursday 6-9-22 made it near impossible because greens were punched and there were holes that made it difficult to know how hard to hit putts. In many cases, Golf Now provides warning so that golfers know what to expect. That was not the case with this course on this day. In summation: love the course but am not happy about playing one with greens that are punched.
Slowest round ever
Super slow with no Marshall on a Saturday. We left after 12 holes. We would have been on track for a 6.5 hour round.
Drunks in front of us driving their carts up to the greens. Again, no Marshall in site. I was told the Marshall went how around lunch time.

I wish I would have known that the course was going to be aerated while I was playing. It was a mess to try to find some ground that was not covered with dirt plugs, let alone a safe way to stand to hot the ball off the fairway. When I signed up for the deal,it would be nice to know as I would have found another course.
For the most part San Ignacio is a great course.

Fast play...great conditions!
Love this course! Even on a Sunday, pace of play was awesome (3:45) and the course is in great shape! Bunkers have actual sand...so be careful in there!

Sand traps are dirt traps. No consistency from trap to trap. Too many bare lies around the greens.

Friendly service and course in good shape
Greens were in good condition and very quick.Fairways and tee boxes were also very in very good condition. The starter / cart attendant was very pleasant. Last time I golfed there the starter was really unpleasant. So I was so happy this one was very friendly and welcoming.

Perfect Condition
We have been playing this course for over 30 years.. It amazed us how well all the trees on the course had
been trimmed back completely on all 18 holes.

Terrible Greens
I always liked this course. It is usually in good shape and wide open for full shot off every tee without fear. My only complaint is the greens. There are hundreds of ball marks on every green. No one seem to repair their ball marks. One should not complain if he/she does not repair his/her ball mark.
