About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

San Ignacio
Tee to green is great but the sand traps conditions very from ok to rock hard.

I have played this course 100 times. It is in excellent condition and always fun. I play different tees in order to change things up and it really makes a difference. I wish golfers would fix their pitch marks on the greens. I repair 5 for every one I make and it's a drop in the bucket.

MUCH TOO SLOW/ WHERE WAS A RANGER?
TOURNAMENT IN THE A.M. GOT A CART RIGHT AS SOON AS SOMEONE USED IT EARLIER AND WE RAN OUT OF POWER ON THE 14TH TEE BOX BECAUSE OF THE HORRIBLE LENGTH OF PLAY: OVER 5 HOURS IF WE COULD HAVE FINISHED.PROBABLY WILL NOT BE BACK FOR A WHILE, AND , ONLY IF INEXPENSIVE.

Slow,slow,slow
Played 2 times, 1 week apart. Both rounds were 2 hr 45 min in spite of having a sign posted in the cart that they would enforce 2 hrs, 10 min per 9 holes. We mentioned to the ranger that it was slow and his response was “yup”.
Get your rangers to do their job. The price tag is too high or such slow play.

I'm done playing San Ignacio. I like the course and the other attributes, but the pace of play continues to be the deal breaker for me. 4.5 - 5.0 hours is too long to golf 18 holes and especially when it could be corrected by proper ranging. I know that the demand for golf is very high and my absence will not dent S.I.'s financial health but maybe the staff will wake up to the "real" problem.

Good layout, great shape, great service
Good layout for intermediate golfer. Course was in great shape, pace of play was good, facilities were clean and well maintained. I do wish there was a shuttle to the driving range on the other side. Otherwise, a great value for the money.

I really like this course for many reasons, but the pace of play is horrible. I've played the course 12-15 times and have yet to play in under 4.5 hours. And, normally, it's 4.75 - 5.0 hours. Yesterday it was 4 hours and 48 minutes. I think this is unacceptable and every time I mention something to the staff about the pace, they tell me that there is a ranger or two on the course. I have rarely seen a ranger and when I do, they're not doing anything to keep play moving. I realize that if I don't play there, they will fill the spot, but pace there is terrible and people just seem to accept it.
