The Battleground at Deer Park

Enjoyed playing this course a lot. There is a lot of water, more than I am used to, but it was a nice challenge. Course was in excellent condition.

Course was pretty wet from the tropical storm that came thru last week. Mosquitos were huge and hungry.
Other than that, the course in pretty good shape.

Battleground is a fun little track with some decisions to be made off the tee. Plays short from all but the tips. All the par 5's reachable in 2, even with the wet fairways.

Nice practice facility. Cool course, will be back.

We really enjoyed the staff - very helpful.
The fairways and tees were in good condition. Lots of wildlife!
The salads for lunch were really good.
But the greens! We have played literally all over the world and my wife rated these as the worst to date.
I will play there again but PLEASE could someone look at the greens.

Greens are in bad shape. All 18 were filled with sand. Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape. Rough is really high. Course was affected by the storm.

First time playing course the fairways were in excellent condition,the course was very challanging,it might look easy but it was definitely a challange

Beautiful course and clubhouse. Played at 9:30 am and was pleasantly surprised my green fee included golf and a meal. Lot's of water but lots of fairway to go with it.

My first time playing here and I have to admit, it was well maintained and great layout that makes you think of what club to use in every hole. Checked in 30 min early due to slow play, but the Marshall didn't agree (No Communication). He then paired me up with a fivesome. But thankfully two others declined. Prepare to spend 5 hours due to slow play. Overall, the course was in great condition, weather was a bit windy but an awesome day for golf.

Course was very nice. Fairways were just right to improve your game. Not too small and not too wide. Only problem I found was that around half the greens had many large holes in them. They were usually in one section of the green so if you were on the other side you were ok. Good value for the price. Will go back again and recommend to others.

The course was really wet. But it rained all week before we got to play. Great course for the money, can't wait to play it again once it is dry. Definitely worth checking out.

We got a lunch (fish tacos with salad and rice and beans) included with the round as part of the deal. Food was decent. Clubhouse nice and staff friendly.
Course was not too crowded and we saw marshals several times during the round which was good.

Greens lightning fast but rolled true. Bunker sand in decent shape. Course could have used more yardage markers but overall very enjoyable.

Can't beat it for the money. Enjoyed reading the history of Texas Independence at each tee marker.

Tight playing course with fast greens. Had a lot of fun playing, but the pace was slow...probably because it was a Sunday morning and the old ladies were out.. Other than that, I would recommend!

This course is good for all ranges of golfers and can be challenging on some holes.

First time to play there.

Challenging enough to drive you crazy but be rewarding.

Only complaint... The grill was closed due to a wedding. Don't eat the pizza!!

This course really is one of the best deals in Houston. The only problem is standing water. Some holes have trouble with drainage and there is a lot of standing water. This leads to several areas of swap like mud conditions which can come into play. Other than that, one of my favorite places to play in the Houston Metro area.

I live in Deer Park and like the course, it's challenging but not so much that you get too frustrated.
The only thing that bugs me is they never have a beverage cart, even on the weekends, and the snack bar downstairs is never open anymore due to budget constraints. If you want to buy beer or Gatorade or something you have to go upstairs to the bar, and if you are buying beer you can only buy three at a time unless you have your playing partner upstairs in person with you. That's a pain, but the course is nice.
