Phillips Park Review
Not much to say on it, the course aside from the greens was in pretty good shape. Early season rounds are usually not a good litmus of overall course conditions, but it seemed like last year’s abuse on the greens carried into this year. Otherwise fun track, Enjoyed my time there!
Exceptionally nice for April
I really like this course. It's fun, challenging enough without being too hard for higher hcp players amd the hilly terrain and old trees make for a very fun round.
Course was in terrific shape for so early in the season too.
Solid
Phillips Park is solid. Course conditions are always good, staff is friendly. This course is not overly long or difficult. After several days of rain, parts of the course were soggy. Carts were restricted to the path, so walkers had an advantage,
Walkable course with moderate difficulty
Played after 3 days of continuous rain/snow. Hence the ground was quite wet. However, it was not a detriment to walking the course. If the players fixed the divots and ball marks, it would even more enjoyable for all.
Overall great course
I always enjoy playing at Phillips Park, which is a block away from my home and quick to get to and from. They also have a couple of simulators if you like to try. Carts are included in the price.
There are few water hazards, so you won't lose many balls except in bushes. The course is fairly easy once you get used to it, and the greens are kept in good condition.
Great Municipal Course!
I would love to play this course in the summer. The elevated views on some of the holes were awesome. The greens were recently aerated and sanded. I imagine in the summer they would be slick and true like glass.

Fall golf
Some kind of mix up between pro shop and ranger on
1st tee. Cart only goes in reverse near greens ( new to me), ranger said they have gps dead zones to keep you away from green . Never was closer to green than the carts only sign, should have been explained at check-in. Other than that, had an enjoyable round and glad to be golfing in November in Chicago !

Great Bang for the Buck
Phillips is a good track for beginners like me, but simultaneously not "insulting" to scratch golfers.
It was perfect day for a round(low 70's in Oct). The only drawback was the pace of play was a little over 4 hours. (it still beats any alternative...LOL!)

Do not like their golf cart
They let software to control their golf cart, and easy to get stuck, not good idea.
their cart does not have enough power.
Had bad experience to use their golf cart, it increase unnecessary hassle to handle the cart when cross high hill.
