That time of year
I really enjoy this course, great value, good conditions, and usually good pace of play. This is a bad time for a review as they are preparing for the annual overseeding. All things considered it was still fun to play. Not to mention that most courses in the area are closed for overseeding so it was nice to have someplace to play.
Casa Grande Muni
City course wide fairly flat but very slow greens
Fun course!
Lot's of fun - in great shape. Great price!
This course is fun to play.
Nice layout and fun to play for the occasional golfer as well as the weekly golfer. Enough challenges to appease any level of play. Very reasonable price includes cart.
nice little course
Nice little get away from Phoenix. Good views. nice bar to grab a beer after the round. good course for the price
Great time
The course is in great shape. Pace was a little slow but not horrible.
The old dudes like it.
My friends fro Phx area like to play the course.
Surprize
Greens were large and well kept..Very guick and slightly disieving
Enjoyed it very much
The course was in great shape, the pace of play was very good and everyone one we had contact with was very friendly.
a pretty fair course to play
pretty easy to find, can't take carts into lot, nice lady a t the desk, carts fair condition, fairways pretty good, greens putt nice and some are pretty hilly, bunkers lack sand , layout gives you a pretty fair test, better than I expected for the area and price, but apparently can be pretty slow at times though not for us
Dave White Municipal Golf Course...a Jewel in the Desert!
I golf with my neighbor and the Wednesday morning golf club at Dave White. The parking areas are sufficient for the number of golfers that can play at any given time. The entire course, including the parking areas, are well policed and neatly maintained as a rule.
The Club House at Dave White can easily manage a couple dozen gregarious, 'Well-Seasoned' individuals. The Morning staff members are spunky folks that know how to work with most all of the varied personalities that cross the threshold. (A slow internet connection can put a wrinkle in anyone's attitude though!) If you plan to utilize online Tee-Time booking applications, call the pro-shop afterwards and verify that they have your tee-time on the books.
The practice areas around the club house and the range are currently in very good condition. Plenty of TLC and water are applied to both. Dave White is a popular course and wear-n-tear should be anticipated and expected during the weekend.
The entire course, fairways and greens, are in really good shape currently. The par three greens have quite a few pock marks after a busy weekend, but you can count on Marshall Dennis to get out there with his tools and whip things back into shape! The par three tees can suffer a bit from the level of use, but the grass and repair methods used by the support staff have them bouncing back in no time.
There are a few places, near the tee boxes of some of the longer holes, where fairway grass seems reluctant to grow. These areas could easily be converted into manicured desert with a defined cart path. Strictly an aesthetics observation. One that could be considered in the future perhaps!?
To conclude, the Dave White Municipal Golf Course is currently my favorite course to play and many of my friends agree. Not too challenging, well serviced, friendly atmosphere and reasonable rates make for a Great Day of Golf!
good course
The course has been one of the better ones the last two years in the Casa Grande area .
Slow slow
Course is in good shape. Greens not fast but run true. Fairways were okay but not what they should be this time of year. Pace of play was the worst I have played in years. Took nearly five and a half hours. There were three groups of women golfers ahead of us and on all but one par three we were all standing on deck waiting to play, all four groups on the same tee box at the same time. Saw the marshal twice and asked if he could say something to them he just shrugged.
Not very organized
That was the worse day I played...it was overbooked, or the longest waiting time to tee off...golf stuck several holes, longest wait was 15 minutes
Great value for your money.
Course was in good shape very lush fairways and only to get better, greens had no bad spots and a good condition for amateurs.
Easy to follow the layout. Easy to walk
Was not busy, felt like we had the place to ourselves. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Enjoyed the day and would go back. Liked the amount of ball washers available. Tee blocks were a bit ambiguous.
muni course
If you keep in mind it is a municipal course, and allot of people will walk the course, it is excellent value for the money......great warm up course if you haven't played in a while
Course being renovated.......
I've played here before....the course when fully available if very good....now it's mediocre to average at best....I was expecting to play as a single in a couple of hours....but made to play with 3 older gents, two of whom, were fine....was a grumpy old man......I played the blues, they the whites, so I spent a lot of time waiting....all in all it was not worth the money, given that the other CG courses are far better layouts....but given that it's over seeding time your choices are limited. Once the course is fully open....it's worth it, right now, no way no how. It's run by the city.....so what can you expect? Look elsewhere, or be prepared for a slow, somewhat mediocre round. It's playing to a par 68, 109 slope from the tips.......???
Dave White
Love this course! Forgiving fairways and challenging with some water in play on a few holes. A couple par 4s that are driveable for longer hitters, but not without its consequences. 2 holes are under construction right now, making it a par 68 course currently, other than that the greens, fairways, and even the tee boxes are very well kept. My most frequently visited course in town.
