Interesting golf course
Holes very spread out in desert setting such that walking is not an option. Fairways currently have a lot of small bare spots. Otherwise a nice course with a first class bar/grill.
target golf
my partners and I played the middle tees a little over 5500 yards. This is definitely a target type desert course. Although not long many of the holes are challenging because where you need to place your ball for a second shot. Thus, if you have a tendency to spray your shots this may not be the course for you Many of the fairways are narrow with a number of shoots off the tee to get into the fairway. I did not use my driver very much, I chose my 3 wood or hybrids off the tee since I usually hit those fairly straight. The greens were slow but in very good condition. I usually play this course a couple times a year because of the great value and outstanding staff.

Target golf is not my thing
We were informed in the pro shop that this was a target type golf course and found that to be very true. Blind landings, doglegs that make you hit a perfect shot or you will run thru the fairway into a ditch. Hole # 13 is totally FUBAR!. As a 1st timer on the course, I did not enjoy the course on those blind holes. I liked the elevation changes and views on the elevated tees. The fairway grass was pretty thin, the greens were small but held a shot & good to putt on, lots of up and down slope to maneuver. After the round, we had a sandwich in the restaurant, a bit pricey ($15.00) for Wickenburg but it was good and a full meal deal. My rating is a 3 for the course and I do no plan to return.
I hope that you were given one of our yardage guides in addition to the warning about the narrowness of the golf course. They are very helpful when trying to figure out how far and which direction to hit.
The 13th hole is not one of my favorites as far as design...and it has been improved upon greatly from the original design with the addition of more grass on the left hand side.
That said, our golf course isn't for everyone, and I am sorry that it didn't meet your eye on this day. I will say that playing it a couple of times definitely helps when coming up with a strategy. Even with the best of strategies, it can still jump up and bite. It is one of the toughest 5500 yard courses that I have played and that is the White Tee yardage. We hope you change your mind and give it another shot someday. It really can be a rewarding round of golf when the plan comes together.
fun test
previous comments were correct - played from the back tees and many of the holes had obstructed views making position off the tees tricky... some tough par 3s at 230 plus blind.. hit a couple drives big right over the barber pole and ball was gone so prepare for that. the layout is fun though - like an unrefined Rancho Manana. Was not a fan of the upcharge for solo riding in a cart but oh well... if you're covid careful you may want to avoid as the small proshop was jammed and many were unmasked including staff. That said the staff are very friendly!!

I’d play again, but miserable pro shop guy
Great conditions and very challenging. I’d definitely play there again. The only negative was the guy in the pro shop. He was miserable and acts like he hates his job. The rest of the staff outside was great.

Great once again
As I have said before, I going up to Wickenburg for a different golf experience. It doesn't have the wide open fairways like many Valley courses. Some blind tee shots, and narrower fairways make Wickenburg CC a challenge. It is not long, however, so the average golfer has a good chance to score well if you keep it straight. Can't beat the views!

Great track
Nice track that rewards accuracy. A short course but playing blues requires excellent shot making definately a great course for the costs.

Neat Course
This was my first true desert course. I loved the views and the uniqueness of the course vs anything I play back home in the midwest. Someone said in a review it was forgiving but I didn't find that to be the case. I'm a very amateur golfer and found the course fairly challenging but still fun and a beautiful day. It's January so there's some maintenance that needs done but we went on a Hot Deal so all things considered I was pleased with the price. I would golf there again, even though it was an hour drive from where we stayed.

I do not know which review said the course was forgiving, but they must play on an extremely tight golf course. Unforgiving and penalizing are words more commonly used to describe our course. Fivesomes allowed
Fivesome ahead of us that didn’t play ready golf made for a very long day.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and a rating. Also, thank you for recommending our course despite the pace of play not meeting your expectations. For clarification, we have a regular men's group that plays 4 days per week and we do allow them to play in fivesomes. It is very rare that they play a round of golf taking more than 4 hours. If a group is playing as anything less than a foursome, it could be perceived that it is taking forever. Our suggested pace of play for 18 holes is 4 hours 15 minutes and occasionally there are hiccups that cause problems but that is not the norm. I know for a fact that our men's groups that played on 1/6/2021 finished their rounds under the 4 hour 15 minute window. If you are looking for a faster round next time, I would recommend a tee time before 10 am. It will not be a HotDeal time, but you will most likely be able to play without hindrance.

It was ok for the price over the holiday week and nothing was even available in Phoenix.
The course had no regard for Covid-19, everyone tossed their masks on last second.
I would like to play it again during warmer weather, without the COVID factor.
All of that said it was better than a friends rating before we went...
