About
Founded in 1917, Washoe Golf Course is the oldest golfing facility in Reno. The layout has small greens and tree-lined fairways, but the fairways are wide and flat making them fairly forgiving. There are water hazards and bunkers strategically placed throughout. The mature landscape is carefully maintained with an elaborate sprinkler system that ensures that the course is green and ready for play all year round. Washoe Golf Course also has PGA Professionals on staff to help with individual or group instruction and extensive practice facilities that include a generous putting green, driving range, and a chipping area with practice bunker.

Back 9 is very interesting
I have played the front 9 before but yesterday I played 18 for the first time. It is like two different courses. The course will challenge you to shape your tee shots and hit into small greens tucked away in the trees. The greens were slow but consistent, and the fairways were surprisingly lush after many rainy days. A real joy and a good value.

Had a really nice round. Course was in good shape and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was busy and a little slow but otherwise very enjoyable.
It is a Nice Test of Golf
I have played Washoe Golf Course over the years. It is fair test of golf. You do not need to need to be the biggest hitter to enjoy the course. The challenge is the small greens that put a premium on your iron play. I would recommend it to anyone.
For all the snow and ice we've had this hear it was okay. They are doing a lot of repair on the course so if you can deal with that its in good shape.

Staff was great as always. The course was in good shape, I just wish that courses here would put the 100-150-200 yardage makers on a small pole along the carts paths. There are too many times that one doesn't see them in the fairways, and then they are passed by. Just a 150 marker would be good..

Nice course, great price
First time there , fairways and greens were good, grass off fairway a little thick hard to see and find balls. Really enjoyed the course for a great price
