LakeRidge Golf Course

About
LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Overpriced
It was definitely not $100 on a golf but that’s what I paid anyways. Pace of play was dreadful and I’ve heard that five hours is considered a quick round out there. We were at 5 1/2.
Playing conditions were just fair, but the greens were actually nice. The rest of the course could definitely use some work.
I would not go back
Very green with lots of trees!
This course is usually very green and shady. They water a lot to keep everything healthy but sometimes the overwatering leaves it a bit wet. There was a wedding so the grill was only offering hot dogs and premade sandwiches, both of which were reminiscent of “gas station” food.
We did see the beverage cart twice which was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The greens were slow and tricky to find the speed. Overall a good experience but not what what we remembered from past experiences.

Great course very scenic and the fairways and greens in great condition I played in late September
Fun and Challenging Course
The course is in great condition, and the greens were ideal. Some of the holes are narrow and challenging which makes it competitive. The staff was friendly and professional. We had a great time and highly recommend this course. I’ll be back!
Excellent Course
This course was great! The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The tee boxes were generally in good condition, but a couple weren’t very level. The fairways were great, and the greens were smooth and fast. The views from the elevated 15th tee were amazing. Here are a couple minor complaints-1) no ball washers on any of the tee boxes. I had to clean my ball in the restroom. 2) waited a bit long for a plain hot dog at the turn.
Great Afternoon
It is a great course with an exceptional pro-shop staff, The pace of play is reasonable. The greens are in good shape.AZ
The large number of geese can be a bit distracting and messy. Many local courses have the same challenge.
Course was over watered. Traps were muddy and a lot of swampy areas
for time of yr., in very good shape
for having as much snow this year, the course was in great shape and taken care of and is looking great for this time of year 8/1/23.
Will play again when in area, for sure.
Great day on the greens
We had a great day at this course except one minor problem. The beautiful signature #15 hole. You are supposed to stand under the bridge and wave up the group behind you, then finish out the hole. So that is what we did.
Unfortunately, one of the players behind us launched his tee shot from 161 yds away and it somehow hit my leg while I was standing under the bridge! It hit my leg, bounced around a bit then landed in the water. Ouch! Probably a one in a million chance, but, just beware!
Otherwise, it was a very nice round, course is in great condition, lots of trees for ducking into the shade while waiting to hit your next shot. We played in 4 1/2 hrs, so pace of play was good.
7/09
I don’t know what the people in the reviews below are smoking. I played the same Sunday, the beverage cart came by 3 times plus drinks at the turn are quick and there’s a sign posted on the 9th hole with a phone number to call in your turn order, our entire group placed an order and we were in and out to the 10th tee in less than 10 minutes.
The fuzzy marmots around the course are amusing/cute, definitely not a detriment to seeing them around although I imagine the greenskeeper dislikes them. Goose poop? Call the wahmbulance, get that letterkenny level comment out of here. Canda gooses take canda deuces, keep your ball further away from the water and it’s not an issue
Perfect Sunday
Course is in great shape, greens are rolling money and the staff is awesome. Keep it up!
Goose droppings everywhere. Poor food service
This was our first time playing the course. The driving range (advertised by the course) "has been closed for over a year". The course has groundhogs running all over it. There are goose droppings on most fairways and greens. There are no premade sandwiches or other offerings at the turn so it took us over 40 minutes to order food, get the food and return to the course (the phone number went straight to voicemail).
In short, for the money this course is NOT worth the money or the time.

Great Golf Course, However it was 90+ Degrees on the Course, no Water Out or Cart Lady. Poor Service.
Great conditions, terrible pace
Course conditions are great as usual, starter(Jim?) does a good job getting everyone out on time. Marshall could use some coaching. Waited 4-5min on every shot after the 1st hole through 12 before we took it upon ourselves to tell the group holding everyone up to get it moving. The Marshall kept driving by them without stopping and they had an entire hole open in front of them. Their group was new to golf (multiple reloads off the tee, not playing ready-ball etc) and didn’t know the etiquette but were nice enough to pick up and move after we spoke with them. Marshall could’ve saved everyone an hour by politely speaking with them sooner. Also they seem to let “members” out in twosomes/fivesomes/whatevertheywantsomes which really screws with the pace. I get they pay more and should receive priority bookings but it’s not a country club, stick to standard pairings and tee times if it’s a public course. 3 hours to make it to the turn is brutal in summer heat.
