About
LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Golfer Reviews
Great course, unfortunately it down poured and hailed on us so we had to stop at the 8th hole...bummer because the place was emaculate!
Lake ridge
Decent value but the course is a dump. Geese have taken over the course and it just smells like goose poop. The goose poop is everywhere to the point you don’t even want to put a club or club cover on the ground. The greens were solid but the rest of it was just kind of a dump. They had sprinklers going the entire round (after and during a rain). They were attached to above ground hoses it just interrupted play more than one would prefer. Staff and amenities were GREAT. The human element was awesome. The course was a dump to be friendly.
Prices up, course downhill.
Quite a few garbage fairways and tee boxes for a public premium priced course. Was my fav for a long time. No more.
Perfect greens
One hole is a par 3 that you drop down to an island on the lake. Beautiful. Started at 330 and just barely finished before closing.
Highly recommend
Very enjoyable course ant a good value. Interesting layout. Nice practice area.
sprinklers
I used to live in AZ, Reno is also a desert, so why do you water during the day? A lot of the water evaporates in the hot sun! Gotta water two hrs before the sun comes up and right after it goes down. Just sayin, I know people that work on those Az courses for yrs and yrs.
THANKS.
Great Experience
I’ve played the course 2 years ago and I vaguely remember the course. But I showed up early and had a great conversation with the starter Jim while waiting for my tee time. There is no range, but there is a hitting net for warmup. Good enough for my level. Course was saturated and there was little roll on the fairways. But the greens rolled true. Liked it so much had to get some extra holes in. Other than the Marshall cutting our second round short, hole 13 was our last hole, it was a great experience. I would’ve recommended that he start cutting out players from 18 and working backwards. But we were the first group through the back 9. But it was getting late. Would definitely play the course again.
Slow play by disrespectful players
Both occasions we had singles or 1 double either push from behind and hit while still waiting to hit second shots. Then on occasions, would hit and just pass you by to move onto next hole, slowing our progress down to wait til then hit in front which then prolongs our round. Please consider having Marshalls.
Great Test of Golf
If you are looking for a course in great condition, excellent layout, fast greens with a lot of break, and a true challenge, this is your course. I’m on vacation and drove from Northstar Resort (45 minutes) because the courses near me were outrageously priced that really didn’t look worth it from the street. Well worth the time and effort. If you think the front nine is tough, wait till you get to the back nine, it’s a whole lot more challenging.
Great layout, great conditions, great staff. It was a busy day. The Pace of play was a little slow, but in a setting like that, you don't mind great value for the price, the only drawback is the limited driving range area, but there is a putting green and a chipping green and I would come back and play it again and I recommend it to everybody.
