Tanna Farms Golf Club
About
Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

Welcoming
Comfortable, non pretentious golf. Good pace. A lot of par 3's on the front 9. Great Value.

We had a Hot Deal with coupon ... The course was wet and it was windy ... GREAT layout ... GREAT staff ... we will go back again and again.
Really really good.
This place was really good. The staff were AWESOME. Seriously, every person there seemed like they really cared that you had a great day. Pace of play was good even though there were a lot of people playing. Course layout was interesting, challenging but not too difficult.
Knocks are that the greens were kind of rough. Most of that is on the players, seriously people, FIX YOUR DIVOTS, and stop spitting sunflower shells on the greens. Other knock is no turn. There’s not a stop between 9 and 10, and there needs to be. Cmon, the dog and beer at the turn is a staple. That and the lack of beverages on the course need to be worked on. One cart girl isn’t enough.
All in all, I’ll be back.
If you like house lined fairways rather than tree lined, then this is the course for you. The course pretty much winds around a housing development, I found the course had a very strange setup, par 34 on the front with 4 par three's and a par 37 on the back with 3 lengthy par five's. That coupled with the very slow pace of play made it difficult to get into any kind of rhythm. On a positive note the course was in generally good condition and the staff friendly and helpful
Staff issues
Overalll not a bad experience. Starter was great, course conditions were decent and pace of play and value was great.
I had an issue with the golf shop worker. We were on the 9th hole when we heard thunder. Weather bug confirmed lightning was within 9 miles. We decided to come in and asked about a rain check. The front desk worker said there is no rain, just thunder so he couldn’t give us a rain check. We questioned the logic of this policy but he stated that he couldn’t give it because they heard thunder earlier in the day and it never rained so he assumed this would be the case this time. There was so much wrong with this guys logic that it just wasn’t worth the argument or money. We will choose to play somewhere else next time.
Well manicured course.
The Tees - Fairways & Greens were in great shape. Some of the pins were pretty tough to get to last Sunday. It was still a little wet but, we did have a lot of rain the previous 3 out of 4 days. This Track is a keeper tho'. We will be back. We did get hooked up with a fun couple. Brian and Debbie were from Streamwood.
Wet Day
It rained most of the round but despite some wet areas the course held up very well. That is a credit to the course condition before the days of heavy rain.
Tanna Farms
Played on a weekday in perfect 75 degree weather. Pace of play was perfect. The only thing negative would be to add more sand in a few of the bunkers.
Hot and Windy Round
Refer to my review of 4/29/17 for other comments. This season Tanna is in decent shape except for the sand traps. All of them are complete hard pan from what I found. Greens are okay and roll nicely. Fairways are fine...tees a bit chewed up. No range no locker room/showers. Small practice putting green with sticks and the initial hole is is island par 3. Not the kind of hole you want to start on with no warm up. Routing does not come back to the clubhouse after nine so provision up if there's no nurse. Beverages are a tad pricey. Porta pottys and no water jugs on course. A short sporty par 34 front and a long finish par 37. We finished at a 440 pace but waited virtually all round. The course behind us was backed up even worse and teeing off in the afternoon guaranteed a 5 hour plus plus pace. Blue tees even at 6033 are too much for most players as there are a couple of 175 yard plus carries off the tee. Play the whites if you want to enjoy your day. I think the course is "under sloped" a tad.
Very little shade to be had on hot days. The par 5 15th plays through a newer housing development featuring yapping small dogs greenside for ambiance. Course has some quirky holes that you have to play a couple of times to understand them. Worth a play once a year. $30 value.
Great staff and challenging course
They weather was awesome the golf shop and staff are super friendly. FYI-No driving range to warm up so get warmed up near by. I almost got my first hole in one. I’m coming back to cash it soon!
good mix of holes
will have to play again /weather was bad and quit after 12 holes
