Tanna Farms Golf Club
About
Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

RUDE
You are met at the front desk by a rude employee that rips the money from your hands then states your deal on GOLFNOW wasn't that good and just go on their websight!
Pace of play was very poor with NO RANGERS to move things along so you are literally stuck...
UGH.... NOT FUN
Unique Layout
Nice course, I will go back when we have better weather and it's warmer. You have to hit your targets, this course has a lot of trouble on it.
Nice Layout, Good Value
Challenging layout that can test you off the tees in regards to shot placement. Always enjoy this course
the layout of the course was challenging and punished you if you didn't stay within the fairway or at least within 10 yards of the fairway
the course was in great condition we played from the tips to make the course challenging the weather was great it was 60 degrees and sunny afterwards we went into the restaurant had lunch and drink reasonable prices great day golf
No GPS makes at times difficult to gage distance, but it does have great features
Will come back and recommend this challenging course to my golf buddies
Very fun change from normal
Course is in good shape. Always seems to be wet. Balls stick and do not roll. Greens are fair and consistent. Would like to see water stations and maybe a beverage snack cart at the tenth tee at least.
awful experience
you drive 4 miles from hole to hole, no yardage posts, no water coolers on the course, pathetic
Very challenging and well maintained.
This course is long and very challenging for an intermediate player. Greens and fairways are great. The staff was very cordial.
The drive between certain holes really gives you time to think about strategy for the next hole. The first hole really sets you up for what it coming.....
A unique course, shorter but challenging.
Course different than expected, enjoyed playing but if you are looking for a long, open course, this one challenges your short game.
Uniquely positioned within a community, nice to drive around the holes and enjoy the view. Many Par 3's, but also more Par 5's, which balance out the rating, interesting.
This course needs some work
Needs better yardage markers or gps in carts
But a nice course layout
Carts had sand bottles but were empty
Great value & very friendly staff...
My only complaint would be that the course yardages are very poorly marked. If you don't have a GPS a yardage book is a must.
Challenging!
Bunkers throughout fairways and along green make you think about club selection and placement.
The sandtraps were like hitting out of concrete. They were not dragged or turned over. A few of the traps had large puddles of water and it has not rained in days.
Nice layout, but tough.
Course included some really nice views and several interesting holes. Not easy though. Fairways are tight, trouble is everywhere, and mistakes will really cost you. Nice challenge though. I'll play again.
How far do I have left?
It wasn't the standing water on some holes, or the sloppy fairways (it hasn't rained in the last couple weeks), or the fact that I only saw the beverage cart "girl" twice on a late morning/early afternoon Sunday round (that took about 5 hours), and it wasn't the fact that there is no turn (which might have helped remedy the lack of the beverage cart). I can live with all these things.
What I can't live with on a golf course is a lack of proper yardage markers. I am not exaggerating when I say that I probably saw only 6 yardage markers the entire day. I walked up and down and across fairways from my ball looking for markers everywhere, and there were virtually none to be found. There are NO customary markers for the 100 - 150 - 200 yardages (I did see two big red 100 yard markers), which would have at least given a reference point for approach shots.
I am not quite sure how a course could be so poorly marked for yardage, but Tanna Farms has managed to do so.
I hope this helps some unsuspecting golfer who is thinking about playing here. Due to all of these things, and including the terrible layout of the course, I will personally try to avoid playing here at all costs.
Great value, great pace of play
Have played here a few times this year..pace of play is fantastic and course is very good considering the low rates...no range but there is one at mill creek which is literally next door
I love this course
Although I said that I love this course, I do need to mention that the fairway distances are poorly marked. Many time during the round if we were able to locate a marker, at times, is was too far away from our lie. Mark the course better and you can improve pace of play.
Quirky, Fun Course
This is a strange (but really fun) course. They start you right out with an island green on the par 3 first. Opening nine is par 34 and back is 37. Number of holes require a well placed tee shot with less than driver. You'll need your GPS if you haven't played here before. Beautiful fairways. Forgiving greens that run slightly slow. Not too many blind shots.
good greens and fairways
paid 50% less than the normal price was and was challenging for the normal golf players.
Tough first hole
The first hole is a par 3 on an island. Intimidating but can be made. Hard to gauge distance. Have to search for marker.
May blind shots over tall grass and small hills.
Would not play again
No driving range.
It was a hot day, no water anywhere on the course to drink. No beverage cart.
No turn so you had to buy what you wanted at the start.
Had to spend way too much time looking for yardage markers. Many times couldn't find any or had to go with one that was 30 yards away.
